If you hadn't noticed, the slide said "Immersive Multiplayer Experience for PS4" in the PS+ reveal for PS4. I guess they meant to say that now they will improve the service. Only time will tell now but if they do improve it, it is better for us.

You're missing the point. As popular as PS+ may have become, not each and every PS3 owner had it, and yet they could play online. Now Sony has taken away that option. Its kinda hypocritical that there is no backlash for this, imo. You could tell yourself PS+ is worth it but you shouldn't have needed it just to play online in the first place. You know, like it works on the PS3.

I agree that it was a low blow from Sony but they handled it smartly, lol. I mean first excite them with all the NoDrm, Used Games allowed thingy and then quietly slip this into the reveal, lol. Anyways, we will know about the backlash in the future. Right now, i don't see anyone getting much fuss over it.

And i have almost zero issue with it because i already have PS+ for VITA. I know it will be carried to PS4 and i am actually excited to be getting free games and discounts for PS4 games

FF has been on xbox so that isn't a big deal, but I doubt KH3 will be on xbox (if it is, that's a big deal), i think WiiU will get some KH lovin.

OMG what r u saying man....there was NO KINECT exclusive shit at all this time. all IPs were AA(some AAA) easily.

The developers responsible for those AAA IPs have been proven to be lackluster, as I already mentioned.

There's only one i.e. Respawn Entertainment, that showed promise with TitanFall. But then, that's coming to PC. I know where I'll be playing it.

don't judge everyone on scale of ND. compared to KZ and Infamous, Ryse and Quantum break are stunning both visually and gameplay wise. plus the fact that both are fresh new IPs!

Why not? What has Crytek produced recently that can be considered impressive? Same goes for Remedy. Let's not forget how mediocre games like Crysis 3 and Alan Wake: American Nightmare are. You really think these developers can make better games than the likes of KZ and Infamous?

And LOL @ Ryse and Quantum Break being more stunning visually compared to Killzone Shadow Fall. Although I know the answer, I'll refrain from answering this and wait for the inevitable Digital Foundry tech analysis to prove you wrong.

also which devs are u talking abt? Turn10 and 343 are considered capable developers.

I didn't mention these 2 developers. I was talking about Remedy, Crytek, and Insomniac Games. Oh and, add Dead Rising 3 to the list of mediocre franchises.

343i didn't actually show any game, though. They just fulfilled the obligatory requirement of making sure Halo was somehow present (via a CG teaser).

That would've been true if any of those games shown came from a worthwhile studio (outside of Forza 5 and TitanFall).

lol you say 500GB HDD like the PS4's HDD isn't going to offer the same size. And forcing consumers to buy the camera with the console is a terrible move by MS, whichever way you look at it.

Not a problem, I'm subbed anyway. Besides, it's not any different for XBL. Both consoles require you to pay for online gaming now. With the PS3, Sony didn't have the services to match XBL. Now they do.

Now, the only platform where online gaming is free is PC. But you can't sell used games on the PC, just as you can't on Xbox One. I'd gladly salvage off the old games that I don't play anymore to pay for my PS+ subscription.

Considering Nomura is handling Versus and it has been long in development for PS3(now 4). Also considering that there was already rumor of it getting shifted to PS4 and becoming exclusive, i am willing to bet it can turn out to be exclusive. Nomura said in the video that they will release info in the upcoming days. There is a "Future of Final Fantasy Conference" tonight + TGS in September. Maybe we will know more about it tonight or perhaps at TGS but FF XV on Xbox One seems highly unlikely to me.

Kingdom Hearts 3 has a higher chance of ending on Wii U though because it had already been on a Nintendo platform.

how do u call this handling smartly? this is bigger than One's DRM imo. i mean M$ can at least try to justify that in some pathetic way but how can Sony justify a free service converted to paid one? it has ZERO added features(unlike XBL gold) compared to the old PS+ and NOW THEY ARE MAKING IT COMPULSORY!!!

Another point to add to PS4. Even the Xbox 360 was fucking region locked nightmare. I don't have hopes for Xbone being Region Free. If it is, good for the Xbots.

Worse than 360 Drm? Really? How can the Xbone, which is already confirmed to be using the same paid online but with the added restriction of shit DRM and used games policies be possibly worse than making it mandatory to subscribe to a service, which offers you free games + discounts/betas on 3 platforms on the promise of better online services?

I don't know about you but I think it was an even match and Sony took it away from MS with their Used Game policies and console price tag.

The opening with MGS5 was phenomenal but the re-reveal of Versus as FFXV is even a bigger deal and something just as mind blowing. You can say that KH3 announcement was a cherry on the cake.

We can pit Drive club and Forza as an equal showing from what was shown. (Though the McLaren P1 on stage was Awegasmatic™).

RYSE looks phenomenal but it's Crytek and they've been a hit/miss for many MANY gamers. (Mostly a miss). The QTEs already look like a chore.

Project Spark is something amazing, but you can compare its showing to Knack.

Quantum Break has so far been my favorite in MS's exclusive lineup and so is Second Sons in Sony's camp.

Sunset Overdrive is another interesting game that caught my attention but GG have bested Insomniac when it comes to shooters and Shadow Fall looks quite different from a KZ game.

Titanfall was an amazing showing but we can agree that Destiny was a more promising and interesting new take when it comes to online MP shooter.

Then there was Dead Rising 3, ReadyAtDawn's "The Order" is as different from it as you can get but at least it had zombie like creatures

Then we saw Elder Scrolls Online, Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, Diablo3 announcements against BF3 and Witcher 3.

If you talk about Xbox360 and PS3 showing, well, I guess it wasn't exactly a comparison. Where they showed a multiplat Dark Souls 2, Sony had The Last of Us, Beyond and Gran Turismo 6 to talk about.

If we talk about the indie stuff, again Sony's show had more stuff on display. Three of which are to be free for Plus members upon launch!

Then of course the work in progress shown was amazing (just before Halo announcement), but Cage's Sorceror was way more interesting. Didn' know that guy had a sense of humor

And of course, with every Xbox comes the promise of a new Halo and 60FPS at that! But we do know that SSM and ND were noticeably absent so there's that promise.

So all in all, it was quite comparable IMO but Sony's policies and pricing made them climb on top of MS. It sucks that online gaming is restricted to plus members only but I suppose we can thank MS for bringing that evil to the market. Sony's getting smarter for sure.
