I think u didnt read inferno's previous posts, u shud be careful before making judgments on people, and that to a PG founder!!!

People who have no actual interest, input or opinion on gaming or any other general section, but rather they are here for the marketplace because its providing them an easy, free access to a large market.

I don't use this site for even marketplace all that much, you can get that idea by my TS. But the admin has clearly mentioned more than once that marketplace is here only to help the users, its not the main feature of this site.
More than anything it's a forum, who pays to visit a forum? C'mon, I am sure there are tons of people who would willingly donate on monthly basis. So why even make it a paid site?

Also if it's paid then there will be a fixed amount all will have to pay, with donations it can fluctuate on what a person feels comfortable with.

I hate to see this site go down ( then again it would probably help me study more, but that is my problem ), inferno has put his heart and soul into this site, and in no way, if i were in that position would i knowd whether to sell my hard work or see it closed, and honestly, i don't know which is worse.

I suggest inferno sell it off as a last minute option, but, then again, that is the solution to keep this platform alive solely tilted in the favour of the PUBLIC, and to be honest, the forum it is today, we don't know whether it will keep itself up if inferno sells it. I mean, have you seem how QUICKLY this announcement was made after inferno stepped down from adminship, but whatever decisoun he makes, i want EVERYONE to stand by his side, we all want this forum to keep going, so does inferno, but when the time comes, and inferno decides what to do with it, as a final act of thanks to the person who gave us this forum ( and kept it free ) i want him to know that we trust his decisoun and that he should have NO REGRET.

The entire " oh shit I can't donate coz I'm poor" doesn't cut it. If you have money for mobile credit, pizza hut, junk food and buying games and hardware then you can pay up here as well.

I am not saying I am poor I am willing to donate. But the things you mentioned above, I barely pay for any...
Lappy was a gift a year back, Have only bought a ram in the past year, that's 1k.
I dont eat junk food or for that matter anything from outside... weak tummy...
Games/movies... Why buy em? IPT, BCG and BTN are there to solve the problem
And mobile credit is limited to Rs 350 per month 250 for internet and 100 for call/sms

But then again, you were talking about the majority, considering above mentioned expenses, i'd be in the minority.

Oh, that I completely agree with. But then some ppl might move on to olx... Unless PG can offer some guarantee of its own that the person is trustworthy. Or only the people with a high post count / high TS will stick to the market place.

Well you know i am not interested in buying the forum at all. It was just an advice for keeping the forum alive, it might be a better choice over extinguishing the forum. You must not waste your 5 years tough grind like this and i never knew some people are actually interested to buy PG for making money. You should not accede of acquisitive people like wajie. Yeah PG iss a beloved platform , but sometimes you have to make sacrifices for your beloved ones ...
And closing it doesn't solve the issue...
Thats why im telling , that if the admin sells PG to some faithfull member of PG ( moderators etc ) ,so then anyones PAPA can buy it back...:v:

It really doesn't matter, there's a huge difference between OLX and PG, we are not a classified site and we have our own niche market! Anyway I am keeping all things in my mind and whatever decision I made will be for keeping this platform a live and it's my first priority. Lastly, of course we can't make it a complete pay site, we are not insane! I will see how donation/support will go but yeah I will not only depend on the donations so there will be some changes too, if we meet the donation goal before 1st july, 2012 than PG will stay else don't keep any hope.

Of course I am very sensitive about PG because you come here to reap the benefits (information, interactivity, marketplace etc) and I actually work my ass off for it. For you it's a online forum, but for me it's a project. Ab maaf karo aur app apni advice apnay pass hi rahko, if you have anything else to contribute than go on, otherwise don't bother yourself.
