noman3000 did u have any external hdd . because i dont think without router its possible to connect ps3 and pc . may be using 2 lan card in pc will help i am not sure . from external hdd u can easily transfer game in ps3 .

it is possible to connect PC and PS3 through a simple network cable.. i do it everyday to transfer games from and to ps3 and pc...

No I don't have external hard disk. I don't need external as this guide recommends to upgrade internal hdd bcoz it's a SATA which is faster than FAT32. Ok if I connect PS3 with PC with ethernet cable, so yeh theek rahega?

One another question, both usb dongle & original bluray disk r must have in order to copy/run backup games on PS3 in both methods downloaded games (ftp sharing) & normal dvd (pirated/copied)?

i dont know about normal dvd (pirated/copied) .kamisheikh is talking about ethernet cable one end in pc and other end in ps3 without using modem /router

lol.. because connecting the cable doesnt start transferring data automatically.. we still need to use FTP to transfer files

to someone, who as usual "lost" it. It would've been a good way to experiment file transfer between PS3 and PC.

go to any local internet cable provider and ask them to make you a small cable cross connectors simple talk with simple solutions. or if any one can spend 500 to 650 rupees can have a router with 2 output ethernet connections.

i get approx 10MB/sec while FTPing from PS3 to PC.. anyone getting better?

i was getting 15-20mb but i stop using ftp i m using open manager to copy from external hdd to ps3 internal hdd

40mb/s , 1 gigabit lan router. Using Backup manager 1.0 and cjpc ftp app.

kamisheikh in open manager 1gb takes 1 minute

This Backup Manager lets /bdvd link to app_home/PS3_GAME so to load your PS3 game backup with this manager will need to have one of the Hermes hex codes on your device. To install it just overwrite the existing one, you do not have to delete the currently installed Backup Manager.

Once you have Jailbroken your PS3 you can launch the backup manager. Select the game you want to load and press X. It should then drop you back to the XMB. Now select app_home/PS3_GAME and press X. If all went well your game should load without a disc in the drive.

kamisheikh there is software which split files bigger then 4 gb in 1 gb parts and open manager during storing games in ps3 join them and make original file . this process take less then a minute
