maaaan i want more info on home brew, NTFS, and MKV support!! WTFFF the PS3 is a beast, i want to exploit its true colors
!!
these hackers are fucking lazy... when will we get news on the good stuff?

You're over execting.
Hackers will deliver these things slowly, but they're humans also and it takes time to program stuff for something that has been recently opened.
Today's update to psgroove added the peek/poke commands, which means things can be modified in lv2 memory on runtime, which is first step towards custom apps ;p but it'll take a while till all this newly born ps3 scene gains momentum.

If Sony just keeps on throwing the new PSN updates and refrain from banning hacked consoles, we can bypass the FW update and play online by a method 'ahmadka' once posted, if it's still applicable that is.

But doesn't the PS3 returns to normal state once you push out the dongle or any device used for playing backups? Like we can play online by removing the hack and install it again to play offline games? The choice between Online and Offline is really a tough one. :(

The DNS wala?, if so that doesn't work anymore. Also when you install and run the backup manager on your ps3 it's game data gets stored on the console which Sony can detect that's why hackers are staying away from taking their consoles online.

Don't know kon sa wala but I think it's obsolete by now and not operational anymore. As for the game data, you can play the installed game and delete the data later on or move it to some other external device and PS3 will be pure again, don't know if it'll work...

Yeah they just banned a gazillion consoles in one swift go LOL.
This firmware that's come out is anything but swift I'd say, I was expecting this a lot sooner but I guess these things take time....or do they

I'm talking about when the Xbox360 got hacked, MS didn't freak out and started suing people >_>

Well I'm pretty sure that the games in ISO mode wouldn't mind which FW you're on. They'll make a patch for it or something.

Yeh, just like we bypass the FW check in PSP with the new games, i am pretty sure the same thing will be done with PS3.

what can they do go suing around lol the hack for the 360 was free and this hack for the ps3 costed 120$ or so lol selling a hack they can do something about but giving it for free etc they couldnt do anything except started banning ppl for it !

ding ding thats what i said many pages back just like what ms did :) a mandatory etc update for their games to be played on a certain fw !

There's now an FTP Homebrew program for the PS3 which can be used to transfer games onto the PS3's internal hard drive ... I think this is probably the first Homebrew app for the PS3 (if you dont count the backup manager of course :p) ...

IRC users are now reporting that ps3 firmware 3.42 is live.

Checking the sony website still shows 3.41 as the latest but grabbing the updatelist.txt from HERE shows otherwise.

Update:
This update is mandatory and does appear to patch the psgroove/psjailbreak exploit. Now given we all may be panicking and all that needs to be done is a change in shellcode (like the 3.15 needs to be) but regardless we request everyone to play it safe and stay on 3.41 until it is fully understood.

The update has no other ‘new features’ and it was just a single revision update so it probably is just s0ny’s first swing at psgroove (besides the legal actions).

People are reporting that this update is bypassable with Logan5′s Proxy. Those willing to update and try it out please do so and report back.

Update 1:
Logan5 tool is confirmed working on PS3 FW 3.41, no need to update for now

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

    tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
