If you guys really want to get
"at90usbkey"

there are importers here in Islamabad who have imported Atmel products like AVR butterfly, AVR Dragon and lots of other AVR stuff for me, I could give the contact rest is up to you guys.
How much premium do we have to pay for a product thats priced at $20 retail? at90usbkey is out of stock nearly everywhere after the surge, so it'll a different chip now if we decide to import.

well there are reports that the hack is being ported to PIC controllers with crystals (PIC18F2550 etc) ... if that happens .. that pic is very very easil available .. this is the same PIC used in making a USB nand flasher for jtag 360s ...

---------- Post added at 01:26 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:24 PM ----------

btw minimusUSB board is also compatible with PSgroove ... and it has also been ported to the PalmPRE

PICs are shitty, I have the 18F2550 and 4550 proto boards, but I prefer the AVR or the ARM.
Working with a friend to import the atmel usb or teensy, I had one atmel chip lying in my junk with USB compatibility, will surely check it when i get back home.
If you guys are interested in a local sort of solution AVRs with usb can be bought from the local market and rest is not so difficult.
In such case get hold of "jadoon" as well.

Damn, can we get some summarized layman translations please?
PIC and AVR are two different lines of microcontroller families, each having its own set of programming code, but if the source code of one is found it could be ported to other family as well, not easy but requires some advanced programming skills particularly in C.

well what i mean to say is that its useless buying those expensive AT90s right now ... because the hack is being ported to soo many free platforms(PSP, android, DS3 controller, PALM and many others) ... and also to the PIC used in making JTAG flashers for xbox360 .. i have a couple of those lying around .. but then again ... making the device based on those controllers too will be a bit costly ... if my predictions are correct .. the PSgroove based on PIC 18F2550 will cost around 2.5-3k with all the additional components needed ..

and ps3linux ... PIC work well on the 360 jtag part im sure theyll work just as awesome here .. its a tiny piece of code ..

PS3 hack ban upheld by court as free version released

Sony's battle to block the distribution of a hack for its PlayStation 3 (PS3) has been won in an Australian court but lost on the internet.

The court ruled on Friday that a ban on distribution of the PSJailbreak "dongle", first issued on 27 August, would be made permanent.

However, on Thursday the software code behind a similar hack was released free on the internet as PSGroove.

The hacks allow homemade games to be played on the console.

While the PSGroove software was specifically designed not to allow the playing of pirated games, as PSJailbreak does, it has already been modified by other hackers to permit the practice.

Also on Friday, it emerged that Sony had filed a US lawsuit against Zoomba, the firm that runs shopPSjailbreak.com, a site selling the device.

The lawsuits specifically name the PSJailbreak device - software loaded onto a USB data stick - but reports have surfaced that the device has been replicated and could soon be widely available through other vendors.

The Australia ban prevents resellers OzModChips, ModSupplier and Quantronics from importing or distributing the device in Australia, and names the supplier as Chinese firm China Sun Trading Limited.

The court order demands that the distributors hand over any stocks of the dongles, China Sun Trading to send any ordered dongles to the court, and calls for as-yet undetermined damages to be paid to Sony.

OzModChips posted an apologetic message to its Twitter account on Friday, saying "Sorry 4 the lack of updates, its been a long day. Bassically the injunction still stands but its not 100% over yet. Not allowed to say more."

The BBC has learned that distributors in the Netherlands have received substantially similar court documents banning the sale of the dongles.

Choice and innovation
However, the court's action was pre-empted when another group of hackers decided to develop and release PSGroove, the code behind the hack, on the internet.

Mathieu Hervais told BBC News he was one of about 20 hackers involved in PSGroove's development.

"We want people to run the software they like on the system they paid for without it having to be licensed by Sony," he said.

"We released it on the internet because we believe in openness, choice and innovation from everyone.

"We understand (games console makers') point of view as well when it comes to protecting their income or business models, we just believe compromises could be made to keep everyone happy."

Sony declined to comment on the court cases or the release of the open-source code.

I would suggest everyone waits for at least another full week or two .. this hack is being ported to more and more devices on a daily basis .. I'm sure that within a max of two weeks, this hack's gonna be ported to so many devices that you all must be having at least one of them .. Meaning then you technically wont have to go out and buy anything ...

I'm real happy with my N900 ... Must've downloaded like 10-12 games of the internet so far .. ! Waiting for a Custom Firmware now :p

YES< You can backup games to any internal/external hdd. You need external hdd ONLY in case you want to play only download games from internet.

Games can be backed up to or played from both your internal or external HDD .. only requirement in the case of external HDD is that it has to be FAT32 ..

1. PSGroove port for Androids: NexusOne/HTC Desire and Others

The highly anticipated Android phone PSGroove port seems to be out. It has been confirmed working with the Nexus One and HTC Desire, it also works for may other android phones, you can view compatibility list here. . The instructions are fairly simple, so go ahead and take a shot at it. There are only 2 known issues with this:

  • This will disable wi-fi untill the original boot.img is flashed back.
  • This will also disable USB mass storage.
  1. Download the package, extract it.
  2. Extract N1-CM6-PSFreedom.tar.gz and copy the contents to your SD card
  3. Copy PS3-signed.zip and PS3-No-More-signed.zip to your SD card.
  4. Reboot into the recovery console.
  5. Install/flash PS3-signed.zip.
  6. Reboot your phone.
  7. Use ConnectBot or any terminal app and type:
    • cd /mnt/sdcard
    • su
    • insmod psfreedom.ko
  8. Kill the power to your PS3, switch on the back (PS3 Fat) or unplug from the wall (PS3 Slim), and connect your phone via USB.
  9. Re-enable power and press the PS3 power button followed by the eject button in quick succession.
  10. Your PS3 is now hacked! You’ll see “Install Package Files” under GAME on the XMB.
To return your phone to normal just boot back to recovery and flash PS3-No-More-signed.zip. It’s that easy. Video coming soon.
Known bugs:

  • This will disable wi-fi untill the original boot.img is flashed back.
  • This will also disable USB mass storage

2. PSGroove Ported to TI-84+/SE (not released yet)

This has to be the funniest port of them all. The PSGroove apparently has been ported to the TI-84+/SE calculators according to brandonlwilson’s twitter IT WORKS. Pull out your calculators, kids, because the PS3 jailbreak is coming to the 84+/SE! Video, source code, and release coming soon!

Another Good Updates. But These TI-84 Plus Calculators Arent Cheap Enough

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
