RAGE 2 will be revealed on Monday, 14th May – which may actually be today depending on when you’re reading this and which timezone you’re in. After a week of teasing, Bethesda confirmed the news on the franchise’s official Twitter account earlier today, which was only recently resurrected following a Walmart leak.

It’s unclear whether an announcement prior to E3 2018 was intended – or if the publisher’s simply shifted its plans in response to all of the rumours. Hilariously, Walmart has said that a “glitch” was to blame for it accidentally “announcing” dozens of new titles – but Bethesda has more or less confirmed that the likes of Splinter Cell et al are legit by extension of RAGE 2 being real.

Some more info.

Platforms: PC/PS4/Xb1 (No switch for now)
Developer: Avalanche Studios (Developers of Mad Max, which explains why it's so aesthetically similar).

ummm...no why?

A single studio can work on multiple projects. They are developing both at the same time.

We are doing the same.
True, but it'd be odd if they announced both games together, right? How often do we see developers do that?

Buuut I just found out the game's actually being co-developed by id Software (DOOM) and Avalanche. Good stuff; hopefully, the gameplay reveal tomorrow isn't as bad as the reveal trailer.

The gameplay trailer looked a bit like Resistance series in some sections, especially bosses/big creatures and some weapons/shooting mechanics. Wonder why the series didn't continue on PS4. It was action packed and fun to play.

RAGE 2 Won't Feature Lootboxes; Team Taking A "Games As A Service" Approach

Speaking with German website Gamestar, Tim Willits confirmed that RAGE 2 will not feature lootboxes, joking that the team is doing something new, letting players buy the game and then let them play it.

Interestingly enough, Tim Willits also confirmed that the development team is taking a Games as a Service approach with RAGE 2, as they want people to play RAGE 2 longer. Details will be revealed in the future, but Willits teased that the team has some fun stuff in the works.

id Software’s co-owner also commented on the development process, saying that RAGE 2 is a true collaboration process between id and Avalanche Studios. People at id Software are working closely with Avalanche to re-create the typical first-person experience the studio is known for while people at Avalanche are providing the open world expertise.

So this was brought up on Giant bomb.

The reason this game looks so similar to Mad Max is most likely because this was started by Avalanche as a Mad Max sequel, then over the last couple of months George Miller and WB have been in a long running lawsuit which is preventing WB from doing anything related to the Mad Max IP.

So Avalanche was probably in a bad spot and Bethesda came in and offered to re-package the work into a Rage sequel.

Because who the fuck asked for a Rage sequel otherwise ..

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
