Did you get the 'notch 2' or 3 arrows at once before firing skills ? Because now that I have those, I'm pretty much using those for all the semi and bigger monsters like Ravagers, Thunder Jaws, Rock Breakers and Storm Birds etc.

The purple war bow with 3 notched arrows does +500 damage depending on where you hit the enemies. Melee is good for all small enemies since they get knocked down easy but, yeah, the bow becomes a super versatile power weapon once you start maximizing the skill tree.

The 2 or 3 arrows stack for status arrows too, so it becomes real easy to set enemies weak to fire, on fire and shock enemies weak to electricity etc.
Yup fully upgraded with all skills unlocked. Fire and Freeze arrows you can only stack upto 2 while the normal arrows can go up to 3. They are good at striking from distance to get huge damage on the weak points but once you are in the hotzone its pretty hard to stack arrows given that you have to press L2 and then R1 for each successive arrow and then fire with the R2. Its just takes alot of time especially when your concentration meter is out. From distance I usually stack up 3 arrows on the shadow Carja Sharpshooter that has low handling but has increased damage to get an initial high damage and then go in with the other bow that has better handling.

Pro tip: Once you actually notch 3 arrows, you can let go of L2 and the arrows will remain notched as long as you don't change weapons and since Melee just requires pressing R1 or R2, your bow should still be there. After notching arrows, let go of L2 and look at the bow icon at the bottom right, you'll see it says 3/35. The first 3 shows the number of arrows you have notched at that time and they'll remain even if you aren't actively aiming at that time.

I had a side quest with a huge fight with 3 behemoth at once and I had to get real good at the bow because it was futile with melee lol, notch arrows, run around and bait them to attack and miss, take fire arrow shots when there's a clearing, rinse and repeat and once the behemoth's caught fire, they were taking 75~ fire damage per second, at that point just avoid taking a hit and watch them burn to death.

Not yet. Pre ordered Andromeda instead so will wait for a sale on this.
well .. it's for Mass Effect so I'll give it a pass :p

But, yeah, definitely give it a go if you're able to get a good deal.

Yeah but once you have fired the first stack of arrows you then have to stack them up again manually and this is where it gets a little tricky especially in areas where there is little cover (which is for the most part) and you have to be constantly diving and running.

Couldve waited for the inevitable crack but the MP also seems solid so it was an obvious choice.

plus i havent read good things about the secondary content in hzd so better to pay for a good 30hrs game than a padded out 60hrs one.

Well if you plan to play Horizon after you are done with Andromeda I'm pretty sure you'll get a good deal by the time you are done with Andromeda - like some time next year :p Andromeda seems to be HUUGGGE in its scale.

I'd actually say it's the other way. HZD has better secondary content than you'd expect from a general open world game. Sub stories which have their own closed story loops, hunter quests like guilds in Skyrim etc. And TBH I'm actually worried if they decide to fully use Dragon Age Inquisition as a template for ME: Andromeda. DA: I was a bore-fest. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought that.

Man, it's a bummer places like cheap ass gamer etc don't work for Pakistanis. You can literally find deals for games like Horizon and Zelda at $45~ or so. Big retail stores do tons of promotional discounts even on day 1. Amazon has almost all games at $49.99 for pre order until release date. They hike up the price to $59.99 at release.

Yeah, PC gaming keys from sources like green man gaming are universal, console discounts unfortunately are regional and especially for disc based games, pakistani retailers always charge a premium. How much is The Last Guardian these days if anyone has an idea ? because officially, the game is $39.99 new now. They officially dropped it $20 after it didn't sell over the Holidays.

Oh Yes I completely agree that the mechanic is spot on in terms of keeping the adrenaline rushing in the midst of a fight otherwise it would have made extremely OP.

You do know Necro's fixation with Witcher 3 don't you :p and rightly so, that game is epic. I honestly feel that the side missions are somewhat inspired by the "closed story loops" that were in almost every side mission of Witcher 3. GG have done quite a decent job with those side quests but if you have played Witcher 3 you'll know that it had humungous amount of those closed loop side quests.

It far exceeded my expectations and the expansions took that to whole new level. I only expect the next Elder Scrolls game to come close or surpass it, and they have their work cut out for them.

It's been a while since I posted more Horizon pictures, I need to remedy that. I think I've pretty much cleaned the map for side activities, all hunt quests done with burning suns, all corrupted zones cleared, all vessels found, all override upgrades found, all metal flowers found. Only thing left are the vantage points but those are a hassle i'll tackle with after the story.

Now, on with the story and collecting more power cells for that super armor thingie.

Hey nice shots man! The game has gained some rapid popularity perhaps the most aesthetically pleasing sandbox game. I am currently occupied with Dishonored 2 - another fantastic game - will definitely get Horizon after I am done with dishonored but wait there is the Path Finder update on No Man's Sky as well...oh fk so many games so little time these days :(

Btw can you guys post some comparison shots OG/Pro for this game? I am getting some HDMI issues with my current ps4 might as well get the pro if its worth it.

If you have a 4K display already I would say its a no brainer to get a PRO but if you are at a 1080 display then its best to stick with the OG PS4.
