how long was the game for 100%
While I dont have the exact number but it should probably be north of 60 hours. After finishing the story I didnt have many trophies left as there are more than enough distractions while you are playing the main story line so i kept on completing the side quests and upgrading along the way.

Yeah i was wondering whether or not you were done with Nioh - that game too seems to be huge from what i have read. I would certainly suggest you give a try to Horizon, even if you think the whole premise of the game is not to your liking, I am pretty sure the action gameplay itself would entice you fully. Oh and do post your impressions of FF XV in its thread too.

Here's my cake !

Platinum'ed along with the first time finishing the game, no need to grind. Few games engross me this much that I literally complete everything before finishing the story. Great great game. Visual presentation alone is worth it for everyone to try this game. Story and game play weren't slouches either. Story takes some Kojima turns and game play gets fun once you start getting all the different kind of ranged attacks and skills to knock down enemies via the melee attacks so you don't have to keep hitting them over and over again.

That awesome moment when you override one Thunder Jaw and watch it fight another. This is some Jurrasic Park shit right here.

Stormbird's were probably my favorite enemy in the game, great design and a fight when them is always thrilling:

It's not a small game, I don't think the game listed my play time anywhere but I'm sure I easily did +30~ hours.

i think it may be more close to 40 hours.

The opening 2 hours of this game are so misleading.. Once I ground past those, it brought the gamer inside me out of hibernation. Really enjoying the gameplay and the world setting. The characters are still pretty lackluster so far, and the dialogues are cringe worthy but the story at least peeks my curiosity now.

What is up with the weather effects by the way? It goes from rainy to sunny and from night to day in a split second sometimes.

Spot on man spot on... A little more into the game and the story would intrigue you even more but by that time you would be so engrossed in side missions and leveling up that you would want to put the main story on hiatus. And yes the weather effects do seem be kinda abrupt at times.

Yeah, I felt that the day-night cycle was too fast in the intro as well, but they seem to speed things up a lot when you're in the sacred hidden lands, once you get out, it becomes 'normal'. Weather will often switch between rain and snow, and once you're in later areas, dust storms. So that's something.

No thunder storms unfortunately. Would have loved to see Red Dead style thunder storms in this game's engine.

So ..

some story spoilers and interesting tidbits for anyone whose finished the game eg venom

The game is apparently based in Colorado, it was obvious in the game too but good to see the number of real-world locations they modeled as 'ruins' in the game:

All Of The Real World Locations You Can Visit In Horizon Zero Dawn | nowloading.co

Also, this gives a great hint at sequel locations.

Spoiler: show
Very heavy hints towards "the forbidden west". Nevada is to the west of Colorado, Nevada hosts US's biggest nuclear reserve and other military facilities. That could be a possible location/venue.

Platinumed it yesterday. Great game but side quests were a bit mundane with all requiring a focus to follow some tracks. Bloody Baron quest along with others were on a different level in witcher 3. But this is GG's first foray in RPG. I expect horizon 2 to improve significantly.

The more important part of the sales announcement. Semi-confirmation of story expansion/DLC :D

"We're thrilled that Horizon Zero Dawn has been embraced by critics and players alike. Developing the game was a labor of love, so it's extremely satisfying to see that it elicits the same passion and enthusiasm from the gaming public that we felt during its development," said Guerrilla Managing Director Hermen Hulst. "This is only the beginning of Aloy's story and our exploration of the world of Horizon Zero Dawn, with the team already hard at work on an expansion to the story."
Also, great job, 2.2 mil in 2 weeks is very good for a new IP. Good to see it wasn't overshadowed by Zelda :p

I think you mean in terms of storyline and context, because w.r.t gameplay almost all side quests in TW3 had you use the witcher sense to do similar stuff i.e. follow tracks, look for clues. Even the Bloody Baron quest you speak of involved such stuff.

And now we know why Kojima chose this engine ... real time puddle evaporation. Kojima's wet dreams for these details fully realized.
