While arguably no longer the best shooter option available to the Xbox 360, Halo: Reach stands up as the best in the franchise. From its tightly designed and balanced multiplayer, the volumes of options to modify play, addition of weapons and gameplay modes, and the game-changing hot-swappable items, the multiplayer is more involved and dynamic than ever. Single player stands as just as reformed. While the plot may not appeal to those who have long criticized Halo's narrative as generic, it still stands up with the best, literally creating a character players can fit into. No longer a story about a macho dude, it represents another perspective in the grand scale of Halo. The shooting is as tight as ever, and the gameplay is at the top of it’s game. While I did not like the random break for the space combat, the games other vehicle sections fit well with the game, including one dramatic level in which the Spartans must fly above the city of New Alexandria and land from building to building to deal with separate threats. It's exhilarating, and fits the game better. However, all of these complaints aside, Halo: Reach will go down as one of the best products made by Bungie, and one of the best games to currently reside on the Xbox 360.
