Hello Everyone,

As the title suggest what are my options if I want to buy from the EA Origin Store? Is there any way I can pay using an Easy Paisa account (I remember a thread here which explained the process but I can't seem to find it)? I have a Bank Alfalah Debit card but I don't think that will work. I have an account in Faisal bank as well. Don't have accounts in any other banks so that is not an option.

@hotgamerft I have had no luck buying on Origin in the past, I have tried debit cards from HBL and MCB both get declined on the platform. I even contacted Origin support and was informed that only Credit cards where accepted outside of US and Canada. Unfortunately I dont have one so can't check if that works in Pakistan.

Thankfully EA decided to release their catalogue of games back on steam so its going to be easier to buy them in the future.

A person from a facebook page once helped me get a game from the origin store. I am pretty sure I got a game from the origin store with the help of a PG member as well but I don't remember who. Also, both of these were a few years ago. I get that the games are coming to steam but I wanted to buy the Apex legends season 5 battlepass for a relative, Apex is not on steam yet.

Debit cards won't work for Origin Access subscription but they might for individual purchases. My MCB debit card worked when I last used it like a year ago. Luckily, as said above, EA titles are back on Steam so you can get them from there.

And if you are referring to this Easypaisa thread: https://www.pakgamers.com/xenforo/i...irtual-debit-card-like-paypal-i-think.268974/ It no longer works!
Well bummer, I guess I'll have to ask someone to help me with this one. Do you have any idea if a Bank Alfalah debit card would work? Is there any risk in trying it out?

No idea about Alfalah debit cards but I don't see any harm in trying the card out. If you're having doubts, maybe look for alternative methods if there are any.
I know origin game codes can be bought from third party sites but I have no clue about Battle Pass.

Just tried my debit card, it does not work. It straight up says cannot verify credit/debit card.

You can buy codes for games but not for battlepass :(

Debit cards do work on Origin, and buying EA games from Origin store is much better and cheaper in some cases. You're still going to need Origin DRM running in the background even if you buy games on Steam.

My advice to you'd be: get some prepared card like MCB Lite for such internet transactions, and only load money in it when you wish to use it. They're accepted almost everywhere a "typical" credit card would be, but the model is buy-now-pay-now instead of buy-now-pay-later in the case of credit cards.

Hope it helps.

Do you have to have an MCB account for that? Can you explain the process a little bit? Also, do these cards work on steam as well?

No, you don't need to have a "full fledged" bank account with MCB, by "full fledged" I mean a typical bank account that you may already have in some other bank -- the MCB Lite itself is an account, but a "Lite" one in nature; meaning it'll function as a standalone mobile wallet (easypaisa-like) but with backing from Visa and therefore it carries an annual fee as well. There are three levels, Lite 0 which is the starting level, then Lite 1 and then Lite 2. You only need a valid CNIC to sign up for a Lite 0, upgrading to Lite 1 used to be free back in the days but for Lite 2 you need proof of income, much like you'd need with a traditional bank account. The only difference is the limits though. The fee has reduced significantly from when it initially came out (used to be Rs. 1.1k or something). They also made it "invite/referral-only" some time ago, I remember this because I referred a couple, not sure about today though.

There's also UBL Wiz card which is said to offer same features, but I personally don't have any experience with it or know someone who uses it.

That being said, MCB Customer support sucks balls, and hope that you don't have to go through them ever in your life time once you get the card activated.

And yes, it does and will work on Steam. Intehai koi dheet platform hai, siwaye Soneri ke har card chal jata hai udher. :p

You can read up more here: https://www.mcb.com.pk/personal-product/mcb-lite (also look for Lite on the left sidebar there).
