Uninstall the game.... then Reisntall.. apply all the patches, especially the Patch 3. You wont be getting any problem after that.

Problem solved. Deleted the whole partition and then played it on texture quality medium and remaining everything on max.

i have been playing gta IV since a few days, finished the main story with 75%completion in 44hours!

I dont think so. But it will be better if you install all the previous patches since we dont know whats the difference of files b/w 'em.

No the latest patch contains all the previous updates. I have confirmed this myself from GTAforums.com

I want to know that can save games of GTA IV can be saved in another drive as a backup. Bcoz every time i delete my window i have to start it from the begining.

bhai mujhe tou xpsp3 nhi mil rahe ...i tried all the tricks and the game starts in my xpsp2 but it crashes to the desktop after 5 mins of gameplay

on which version is your game on?? I mean, what is the patch version on which your game is running?

You cannot run the game on XP SP2. Why dont you intstall Vista & with that SP1. The will run better than running on XP SP3.

i dont upgrade to vista cause i just have 1 gb of ram ...........

yaar go out in the market & buy a 25Rs. Win XP SP3 cd (1)

just for sp3 i bought 1 dvd and 3 cd's but all were sp2

^You have to download the SP3 because you wont find it in the local shops. I too tried but couldnt find it.

* Backup the entire “Rockstar Games” folder (your saved games) which is located in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\ for Windows Vista and in C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\ for Windows XP.
* Backup the “XLive” folder (your Microsoft Games for Windows – LIVE profile), located in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Microsoft (Windows Vista) or C:\Documents and Settings\<USERNAME>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\
* Install the game (including Microsoft Games for Windows – LIVE) and run it (so it can create the folders).
* Find the new folders and replace them with your own.
