Assalam-O-Alaikum,
two brothers(my relatives) are jobless for a long time, work in garment factory so get a job then looses it in a month or so due to less jobs, we want to open some kind of shop/small business for them, what kind of small setup can be done in 1 lac.i had couple of ideas.1-a chicken shop can be opened,2-buy used machines like 4-5 and start a small setup for garments,as they have experience in that,3-chakki(wheat grinding shop). so what are other kind of shop/business can be opened in this amount. ?

I have no idea about such businesses but IMO chicken shop is better if done in a right way..however 1 lac is a pretty small amount and you can't start something good in that amount...second option is chakki but again there are a lot of big players in this line (hint water pump market etc)

For that you'll have to do a market survey, and see the shops you already have around your area. Given your budget, you don't have to spend all of it to start a business. Even if you start a simple Gol Gappay shop, provided there isn't one already in your area ... it'd still work better than your expectations.

A business is a business. Don't think for a second that selling Gol Gappay is a cheap thing to do.

Opening a Dairy shop would be a good option. Milk and Yogurt (Curd) are items of daily use so provided the business is done with complete honesty, it would become profitable in a very short time.

i know thats a small amount, but thats all my dad can offer to them.and i think shop wont be a problem, can be open on rent, only thing is the item(s) which they will be selling, for now chicken and dairy shop seems to be good option.

Simply, FOOD! Someone in my family started a food business last year, simple rice/daal during day (8-2pm) and burger/gol gappay and paapri chat something from 4pm-11pm. What matters in this is the 'taste', they started from like a few thousand daily sale to around average 30k-40k sale now a days in just a year's time.

They weren't that financially strong back then and had several loans to payback. As of now, they don't owe anyone any money, all loans paid in the last year after starting this business.

Be warned though, this isn't an easy business, requires hardwork and your food should have 'taste' if you know what I mean, also your location should be fairly decent. Goodluck :)

everything is unhygienic in Pakistan, you can't make sure whether the person who is making the burgers/zingers at the back kitchen of KFC, McDonalds etc have washed his hands properly :p but anyways..

yes food idea is also good but as everyone said quality / taste is a all that matters..example is of student briyani, bondo khan kababs and many more who all started their business on the streets and now owns a chain of outlets.

Different branches have different standards according to the management, Student Biryani @ I.I Chundigar road and at main rainbow center branch are still good..but anyways maintaining quality depends on the owner..the original owner is dead long time ago and now his future generation screwing up the business.

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.
