MOVIE actress NATASHA RICHARDSON died last night — two days after suffering brain injuries in a skiing accident.
Her husband, Hollywood star LIAM NEESON, was “shocked and devastated”.
Natasha, the 45-year-old daughter of British screen legend VANESSA REDGRAVE, 72, and director TONY RICHARDSON, banged her head in a fall at a Canadian ski resort on Monday.
Schindler’s List star Liam, 56, had been at her bedside in New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital, where she was flown in the hope neurosurgeons could save her.
But she died after being taken off life-support yesterday evening.
Mum Vanessa and Natasha’s sons, Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12, were also at the hospital.
Neeson’s publicist Alan Nierob said last night: “Liam, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha.
“They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone.”
Natasha fell during a private lesson at the Station Mont Tremblant resort in Quebec.
She initially told staff she felt fine but was taken to the bottom of the slope and told she should see a doctor.
An hour later she complained of an extreme headache and was rushed to hospital.
She had been on a beginners’ slope and it was not believed she was wearing a helmet.
Meanwhile, it's been reported that paramedics were sent to treat Natasha - but turned away when ski patrollers said they weren't needed.
Liam, who also starred in Star Wars hit The Phantom Menace, flew from the set of his latest film in Toronto to be with her.
