XBOX Microsoft shows off future graphic tech for Xbox 360

Microsoft’s developing new technology for Xbox 360 which uses a system called Mega Meshes that will be supporting tessellation units of Xbox 360 and will increase the polygon count and level of detail by a huge margin for upcoming Xbox 360 exclusives.
The very first game, supporting this tech is Lionhead’s Project Milo, which is unfortunately only a tech demo and won’t be seeing the light of the day as a retail release.
However, Lionhead’s lead programmer, Ben Sugden showed off a presentation at GDC 2011 which showcases some of this revolutionary tech in use for Project Milo and gives us a glimpse into the future as far as visuals goes.

Doesn't really look all that awesome imo. I guess this tech demo wasn't really a proper stage to show off what they're talking about as far as "level of detail" goes.

I hope to see some actual games using this technology very soon.

Oh and...i am sure it wasn't meant to be a smack at the PS3....but damn...look at all that grass :p

That engine looks like it was built with Fable in mind. The rocks were pretty effin amazing as well as the lake.

Btw that lake reminds me of Milo. O Where art thou, Milo?

Looking at those images the first thing that came to my mind was that Milo game. It's Lionhead so I believe there could be a connection...

MS should release Milo as a mini game free on LIVE as a promotion tool for Kinect or something.

Gears of War 3 will be the last game in the franchise,also due to the disappointing sales of the first Alan Wake i fear it won't have a sequel.

I don't think so. They'll milk Gears dry for all its worth. I'm guessing Halo-esq releases like Reach, ODST and Wars.

And I won't be so quick to dismiss Alan Wake. It did manage to crawl to a million sales. And it was a critically acclaimed game not to mention Times's GOTY. :p

Going to buy the The Writer DLC as soon as my slim gets modded.

They should make AW2. A console doesn't need to be saturated with one genre only. I am sure, there ARE 360 owners who like adventure, thriller games. No need to make those audiences suffer.

During the first leg 360 had a variety of different genres. Then it was just shooters. Now its Kinect. Seriously.

the point here wasnt the texture(most people are complaining about that)
but the models
so yeah
that was pretty impressive
especially the grass
and that water reminded me of the sea in Just cause 2(pc version) with tesellation turned on
which is the best water ive seen in a game as yet

Halo 3/Reach had some pretty nice water.
