You went to media international islambad, PC house, Munir Brothers and didn't check out the other shops that are around it? :|
I mean there are a lot of shops on that road, it would be hard to get all those from exactly one shop, and the guy was right about the GSkill rams. No one apart from iamextreme has them.
I remember when i went out to buy 2500k, i myself first went to media international but they told me to wait for 2 days which i couldn't so i came out and found it in another shop.
I had to buy a processor, ram and mobo and i got these from different shops. Only one shop had 2500k in the whole area , even one of the guys told me to buy 2600k lol. My uncle told me that "2600k kyun nahi le lete" and i replied "Mai bakra maang raha hoon or woh gai bechne k chakkaron mai hai"

where did you get the 2500k?

well the guy is right, pretty much all the shops in Bluearea sucks! they're overpriced, uninformed and usually misleading. Totally unaware of tech developments. There are still shops that selling Pentium D and creepy Celerons.

from IKC its near PC house but as i said before just don't go looking in only one shop there are several shops there in the same area. Keep looking and hopefully you'll find it.

Man if i was there in ISB, I could have bought the specific component's with you (All of what you've specified is easily available), but if you're looking in the right places and could have also assembled it right in front of you

One thing i know for sure is that no matter what happen's :

" Don't ever get anything assembled from galaxy or Media Int'l or any other shop for that matter "

They would screw up your entire system and I've seen how these guys operate. Illiterate like anything they are.
Its best to contact some local and experienced PG Member in assembling it e.g. Voodoo (Once you've seen it being assembled once,
then I'am sure you could try it the next time).

Well if the PC assembling is a big issue, I can give u my personal voluntary services is this regard,

I have assembled Prince salman(pg member) i3 myself,he lives nearby and 2-3 PCs in my home for my cousins,its really not a big deal

I live in rawalpindi. as moving in rawalpindi, islamabd is not a big issue

Also u can try asking the guy in rawalpindi media intel, In arranging items it depends mostly on Personal IKHLAQ of a person, so may b he can find u the solution...........

Assalamaoalaikum

Guys i wanted a sandy bridge PC, searched the net for PC Shops in islamabad. and almost everyone recommended Media international and PC House, while some also pointed out Munir Brothers. Even Guys on this forum said that these are the best shops and they have been dealing with them for the past 8 or 10 years and even if they dont have something they will bring it on order.

After hearing such rave reviews i thought that there will be no problem in getting my PC made. Firstly i went to Media international. I gave my intended PC specs which are as follows:

Processor Core i5 2500k
Motherboard Asus P8Z68-V Pro
Chasis Cooler Master Haf X 942
Hard Drive Western Digital 1TB 64MB Cache ( Caviar Black)
GPU HIS ATI 6870 1gb
Ram G Skill RipJaws 1.5volts 8gb 1600Mhz
Optical Drive Asus DVD R/RW
Power Supply Corsair 750 Watts

The guy there Naeem said that Cors air power supply is not available so i substituted it for Cooler master silent pro gold 800w. Then i asked whats the price? he told me Rs.119000/-. I asked when should i pick it up? upon inquiring this, he told me that he would reach me on my cell and tell me when to come and that normally it takes 2 days for the goods to arrive. After two days when he didn't called me i called him and inquired about the status of my PC, he told me that " HE HAS MAILED THE SPECS TO HIS BOSS AND WHEN HIS BOSS WILL REPLY HE WUOLD LET ME KNOW"----- WTF---- i mean is his boss on planet mars or something that even after two days he is telling me this.
Anyway on to option No2 PC House. The guy there even surprised me more he asked "WHAT IS THIS RAM YOU MENTIONED---RIPJAWS---GSKILL--- I NEVER HEARD OF IT I THINK NOBODY HAS IT IN PAKISTAN" and then he told me that they dont have NONE of the Specs mentioned. So much for the Greatest PC shop in islamabad.
third option Munir Brothers. the guy there was no different. when i gave hum my specs. he piked up the phone and started calling to God knows who and started inquiring about the price and then he also told me "TO CONTACT HIM AFTER 2 DAYS". WHAT THE HELLLLLLLLL! Guys.
I mean are my intended specs so rare or am i living in some door daraz pind or chak where these things are alien.
Anyways My quest for PC continues and in this regard please tell me from pindi where i would be able to get my PC made otherwise i would ask my brother in karachi to go to Galaxy Computers and get it made from them. Funny how everyone criticizes them and they were the one who stood out.

hahahahaahaha ,, My dear Bro i can completely understand what has happened to you as i have dealt with these shops for then 6 years. Getting these goods from and online store is the only option, as far as assembling is concerned, IF u can ! then do it your self cause !

i read about it on tomshardware that for one 580 550w is enough and for two 800 and that too 80 plus gold is enough

just make sure not to over tighten the motherboard screws...check the manual it show cable layout.....

also watchout for your elbow.....it can break your motherboard as it did with one pg member (dun remember his name)

Ali thanks alot bro, yesterday i contacted yasir (Owner IMX) he told me to wait for a few days as ASRock motherboards are arriving and also as Asus board is not available anywhere in paksitan at the moment. So i am waiting for these MOBOs to arrive as ASRock make great boards and various forums awarded them their recommended Buy, so once again He is doing all the PC comunity of our country a huge favor

Subhan Brother i can't thank you enough for your offer for assembling my PC . I contacted Yasir (IMX Owner) yesterday and he said he would help me so will be going to him once ASRock motherboard arrives. Thanks man

You've heard only first line correctly, running a PSU at it's peak may cause instability and reduce it's lifespan quickly.
For GTX 580 in SLI along with your basic system a good quality 850W is least, even if it's GOLD rated, you should leave some headroom for other things as well and play in safe.

I recommended him 1000w psu for 580 sli. the difference between a 1000w and 800w is not that much and plus (price wise) later down the road no matter what you add, you wont be worried about your psu not being enough.

Exactly my point, I said 850 Watt is least that means 950W and above is recommended from any credible brand like Corsair, Antec, Xigmatek, TT.

I agree, having been used ASRock myself, its no more a partner company of Asus and surprisingly makes better mobo's than Asus.
Great steps for a company for making its name.

Yeah ASRock has really kicked it on with the dandybridge motherboards, they are really really good.
