Islamabad's PC market is worthless

Guys i wanted a sandy bridge PC, searched the net for PC Shops in islamabad. and almost everyone recommended Media international and PC House, while some also pointed out Munir Brothers. Even Guys on this forum said that these are the best shops and they have been dealing with them for the past 8 or 10 years and even if they dont have something they will bring it on order.

After hearing such rave reviews i thought that there will be no problem in getting my PC made. Firstly i went to Media international. I gave my intended PC specs which are as follows:

Processor Core i5 2500k
Motherboard Asus P8Z68-V Pro
Chasis Cooler Master Haf X 942
Hard Drive Western Digital 1TB 64MB Cache ( Caviar Black)
GPU HIS ATI 6870 1gb
Ram G Skill RipJaws 1.5volts 8gb 1600Mhz
Optical Drive Asus DVD R/RW
Power Supply Corsair 750 Watts

The guy there Naeem said that Cors air power supply is not available so i substituted it for Cooler master silent pro gold 800w. Then i asked whats the price? he told me Rs.119000/-. I asked when should i pick it up? upon inquiring this, he told me that he would reach me on my cell and tell me when to come and that normally it takes 2 days for the goods to arrive. After two days when he didn't called me i called him and inquired about the status of my PC, he told me that " HE HAS MAILED THE SPECS TO HIS BOSS AND WHEN HIS BOSS WILL REPLY HE WUOLD LET ME KNOW"----- WTF---- i mean is his boss on planet mars or something that even after two days he is telling me this.
Anyway on to option No2 PC House. The guy there even surprised me more he asked "WHAT IS THIS RAM YOU MENTIONED---RIPJAWS---GSKILL--- I NEVER HEARD OF IT I THINK NOBODY HAS IT IN PAKISTAN" and then he told me that they dont have NONE of the Specs mentioned. So much for the Greatest PC shop in islamabad.
third option Munir Brothers. the guy there was no different. when i gave hum my specs. he piked up the phone and started calling to God knows who and started inquiring about the price and then he also told me "TO CONTACT HIM AFTER 2 DAYS". WHAT THE HELLLLLLLLL! Guys.
I mean are my intended specs so rare or am i living in some door daraz pind or chak where these things are alien.
Anyways My quest for PC continues and in this regard please tell me from pindi where i would be able to get my PC made otherwise i would ask my brother in karachi to go to Galaxy Computers and get it made from them. Funny how everyone criticizes them and they were the one who stood out.

Why not get all these items from different online shops, get them delivered to your doorstep and assemble them yourself? :/

Bro Believe me i would have done it in the first place but the thing is i cannot assemble a computer never have done it before and as this is my first PC i want the pros to build it.

do you have any cheetah friends.u can ask them to assemble ur pc or else you can compromise from items available in the shops.

No doubt Media International is known to be the best choice in Islamabad but I am really shocked to know what they did in this case. My personal little experiences with them remained quite OK. Anyhow, it had better to contact Galaxy Rawalpindi via telephone and inquire about the components you are looking for to build your rig. Hopefully, you will get one what you want.

brother you actually did it wrong. first of all goto iamextreme your self and purchase ram. and it is highly recommended that you stay away from 6870 get gtx560 instead or 550TI and that too from iamextreme. then goto galaxy shop in midway centrum and purchase the other stuff from them. thats all

unfortunately and indeed very unfortunate for me got no cheetah friends and man please dont advice about compromise it really hurts alot. i really really reaallyy reeaaallly need this PC

i cannot assemble the system myself. need the help of a pro thats why went to these guys

May i ask why ur opting for a 800W PSU?

No biggie, grab all the stuff you need and head to galaxy in rwp tell them to assemble it.
They will charge you nominal price and that's the cost you gotta bear for getting things done. :looking:

Iamextreme and they guys who started it have done islamabad a huge favor . they dont have the 560 ti at the moment otherwise thats the obvious choice and i am getting the ram from them i infact contacted yasir and asked if he could make the system for me but as he doesnot have the other components motherboard, processor,case, hard i thought he might not be able to get them

It takes a lot more than that.

Have you peaked inside a computer case a few times? Can you tell which part is which?

If you can, you are good to go.

there is no room for making such a wrong move! pop in processor (watch some videos how-to-do-it) connect all the necessary cables and double triple quadruple times you make sure everything is properly intact .. What else are you worried about?

First of all you should change your mobo, the one you chose is extremely overpriced here in Pakistan.
Secondly as far as assembling PC is concerned, its really easy. Believe me. Just watch some youtube vids and you'll be ready to go.
As far as availability of products is concerned, you should check if any shops in lahore or karachi has them and get them shipped from here.

You went to media international islambad, PC house, Munir Brothers and didn't check out the other shops that are around it? :|
I mean there are a lot of shops on that road, it would be hard to get all those from exactly one shop, and the guy was right about the GSkill rams. No one apart from iamextreme has them.
I remember when i went out to buy 2500k, i myself first went to media international but they told me to wait for 2 days which i couldn't so i came out and found it in another shop.
I had to buy a processor, ram and mobo and i got these from different shops. Only one shop had 2500k in the whole area , even one of the guys told me to buy 2600k lol. My uncle told me that "2600k kyun nahi le lete" and i replied "Mai bakra maang raha hoon or woh gai bechne k chakkaron mai hai"

Nothing like that could ever happen. All cables are designed in such a way that they cant be plugged in wrong place.

everything will fit where it's made for!

Just read the manual once it has everything fairly well written and explained with images.
