[HELP] Ram Issue !!!!

salam all,


my lptp having ram issue .. although its 4gigs 1600 ddr3 single stick.. when i uses chrome tabs more than 1, my lptp gets freeze & heatup.. i pasted the screen shots .. should i buy the new ram 4gigs or what ?? adding the new ram will solve the issue ?? suggestions needed !! and win takes 2-3 mins to shut down .. currently using ssd !!!

I have checked your screen shots, My laptop have 8gb single stick of ram installed and my ram usage is 3.3gb from 7.9gb (currently 6 tabs open in chrome)
I doubt it should be ram issue, as 4gb is good amount of ram for routine works of the laptop

Firstly, could you give a brief history of the problem
1. When did it start happening (was it there since you bought laptop or did it start after installing some softwares)
2. Did you change anything (hardware, drivers etc? prior to the problem)
3. Did you install or upgrade new OS? (If yes, was it upgrade or fresh install? is the OS legit or pirated)
4. Which OS are you using?
5. Check one thing, when you PC hangs, is the HDD led on front of the CPU casing is continuously ON?? or it continuously blinks? or its off? (Tell me the behavior of this HDD LED when PC is running normal and when it hangs)
6. Is issue same on other browsers?

Regarding the low RAM issue, do one thing Try increasing your virtual RAM (Its a feature in Windows that uses some allocated space of hard disk as RAM)
I remember i used to do it in Pentium -II and Pentium - IV to increase performance back in the days
Whatever number you put in the Initial size (MB) put double the amount in Maximum size (MB)
And the number you put in Initial size (MB) should be multiple of 8 (example 1024 MB, 2048 MB, etc)
Take the minimum amount to as large is 8gb and max to 16gb (Do it phase wise, 1gb initial, 2gb max, then try 2gb initial and 4 gb max, etc)
Try this and see, Hope your issue will be solved

NOTE: The allocated space in the hard disk for virtual ram will be non usable for storage. (If you are low on HDD storage, then you will require to reverse it the same way you did it)

Dude do you have Kaspersky installed? What is this "avp.exe". Also if you can try running chrome 3 or 4 tabs go to task manager > processes. Check show processes from all users and sort according to Memory gimme the screenshot..

well, i cant remember now .. !! but it happens every thing.. the first time i bought this lptp has no issue ..

installed 7 Pro x64 from here..

yea, when the lptp goes shut down the led keep remains on and ssd light blink i mean, normal mode !!! getting my point ??
when its heatup ya freeze ya struck, the led even every thing gets stopped .. only fan speed become more faster and more hotter !! even i cant use my lptp outside sitting infront of the sun i mean sitting outside ...

how to do this ??? should i installed another os virtually by giving more ram ???

well chrome has memory leaking issue better avoid using Chrome
before changing and buying new hardware / ram
better do the fresh installation of windows so you can confirm is it hardware which is causing problem or it is crappy windows / virus

kaspersky is only for antivirus purpose.. i have dont have any avg antivirus.. :O

Use firefox and let us know if you experience the same behavior.

If your laptop doesn't experience BSOD or random crashes, then your ram is fine.

3 months back i was using FF when i reinstalled 7 pro x64...

after getting this notification error, i jumped into chrome !!!

Kaspersky too resource hungry.

I would prefer the less resource hogging solution. Microsoft Security Essentials (combined with Malware Bytes). But if you have to install a 3rd party solution, then use Norton Internet Security.

i dont trust microsoft security essentials neither I use it .. and yes, a month I used Norton which was trail version but I couldn't find any paid/crack version that's why I deleted Norton .. Norton was THE BEST ... !!

+1 for Norton.. i am using that too no problems. I'll pm you. And as for that Virtual memory, uncheck the "automatically manage paging file size" option and as haroon said set the initial size in the powers of 2 like 1024, 2048, 4096 and the maximum size should be its double.

been using microsoft own security since windows 8 and living happy life
