i have been using win 8 for past 2yrs no major problems at all
well all the old creative sound-cards had major drivers issues based on my own personal research, when i was interested in buying one sometime ago, Both Amazon.com & TomHardware Forums users had similar complains as you have, and the matter gets only worse in case of Windows 10.

& mac007 get a small portable desktop DAC/AMP instead of a dedicated sound-card :D

I need to replace my Rx300 - they worked great for 4ish years but I broke it a few days back. My budget is 2-3K. They're mostly used for music and movies with my laptop.

Well in 2-3K budget range you can look at Steel Series Sibera V2 (Refurb) perhaps or i would strongly suggest you even getting a earphones/earbuds like Xiaomi or Fiio, instead of a headphone, as it would be hard to for you to find a good headphone in your price range.

Then use it mate, it is far better than a dedicated sound card!

My Gamecom 367 finally broke (in my bag - I slept on them :tv:).

I need a replacement. Currently deciding between Philips SHP9500 and Hyperx Cloud Core. Will be ordering tonight. Right now, I'm leaning towards the 9500 given they're compared to the much much more expensive Sennheiser HD600s.

============

Put in an order for a pair of V-Moda Crossfade LP (portable) and the Philips SHP9500 for home usage (since they're open). If things go smoothly, they should be here in 10ish days.

I'd recommend open headphones for gaming and anything really as long as you know you'll be in your room, not surrounded by people. They don't isolate sound, either way. So you'll hear things around you, and people around you will hear what's playing. The pros of these? Much better sound-stage. You can position sound sources much better.

Top recommendation for a non-portable open headphone in the 150USD budget is of course the Sennheiser HD598. However, the Philips SHP9500 is an excellent choice too, and is much much cheaper. Check out its reviews.

Bluedio is available on Aliexpress. They have decent reviews on Amazon etc. What's your budget?

About 3k , can go to 4k if qualities good and they deliver
Yeah Aliexpress is your best bet. They have a decent variety. Always check feedback and only order from sellers who have delivered a lot of orders (and has good reviews/feedback).

I recently saw someone sell some Jaybird X3s for 40ish bucks on ebay.. But most of the sellers don't ship to Pakistan so..

Try Allmytech they have many Bluetooth earphones and headphones and they perhaps might even provide some local warranty.

Got the beauties. Currently testing SHP9500s with my PC and boy do they sound exquisite, especially after some EQ tweaking.

Welp, done with Hellblade 2. Thoroughly disappointed. Such a nothing burger after the unique experience of the first game.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

  • L LegacyGamerGuy:
Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.

It is indeed the worst generation by far.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

  • L LegacyGamerGuy:
As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
