shouldn't this thread be in the hardware section?
I dunno. If its in the wrong section, maybe the mods could move it.

I got the V6 from newegg for 65$ on sale down from 120$ :D

I might actually sell these if I get a good price. Looking to buy Etymotic Research ER-4S or Westone 2 for movies and music. Cant decide if IEMs are good for movies or not.
65 bucks!? Nice deal man. And iems shouldnt be bad for movies. But if youre gonna watch them at home, then full size headphones would obviously be the better choice.

Yeah that's what I'm contemplating ATM. The only issue I have with V6 is that I cant wear them to bed which I love to do usually.

while I was going through this thread, the right speaker of the headphone stopped working :S
now i think the wire is broken
Should i open it and try and fix it myself or should i get it fixed from some shop
Or should i get something new in the range of Rs.1500 ?

The headphone gods have spoken. They want you to get a new pair. :p
But seriously, if you're good with diy stuff, you could try fixing it yourself. Probably a breakage in the wires. Would require a little soldering. Or you could ask someone to do them for you, if thats feasible. Depends on what you want. Why not fix these, save some more money and get something better?

^ Yeah seriously... some pretty dumb threads from newbies and some from the PG vets too. This is a good thread, i've been wanting some gaming headphones but had no clue how they work or which ones were the best bang for the buck

Haha, thank you! :D
Thats probably cause I've been using forums for a long time now. :p

And that depends on your budget. The Audio Technica ATH-AD700 are considered the best budget headphones for gaming. You can get them for 90 bucks on Amazon. But they don't come with a mic. You would have to get one if you need it. That said, these would be better than most so called 'gaming headphones' and if you could somehow get an extra 130 bucks for the Astro Mixamp, you would be satisfied for life. :p

Don't even get me started on how pathetic and overpriced Razer headphones are.
They sound below par than the headphones in the same price range. They charge you for the brand name, much like the case of Dr. Dre

I'm eying Senheissers for my next headphones but I won't be hasty in buying my next pair of cans.

@Anurin: Sorry if I missed it, but which headphones do you own yourself? :)

Agreed there, Razer isnt very good in the headphone dept. and the Megalodons are a big fail for 12k. Not an audiophile but my first proper headphones were the A4Tech HD800, then got Razer Piranha and then Sennheiser HD205 and now HD428, love the HD428, VERY comfortable and sound quality is great. :D JVC headphones offer the best bang for buck imo, my cousin had 2 JVCs, forgot the name, but he got them for around Rs2000 used and both of them were better than my Sennheisers o_O :p

Yea, exactly. I'd never suggest someone to get Razer, in spite of how sexy their stuff is. :p

And yea, I didn't mention that. I use a Sennheiser PX 100-II (Black). Looking to get a Meelec M2 for rough usage. Though if I don't find that, I'll probably get a Marshmallow.

And you should definitely go for Sennheisers. They probably won't disappoint you. Though that depends a lot on your preferences.

I'm current on a pair of JVC HA-S700. These were bought for 2.4k from a guy on PG.
I used Bose Triports before this and these are almost the same, except the Triports get way louder.

The right model JVC cans are seriously awesome. I wish they were widely available here.
People would stop with the Razers.

Beat's by Dr. Dre suck. They're over rated like a mofo'er. I've tried them, and for the price, it's not worth it. I'm a bit of an audiophile myself too. I wanna get some good headphones probably from either Sennheiser or AKG. I'm leaning for AKG for my headphones though :D But anyway, I proudly own a pair of Sennheiser CX-300II earphones

Best. Earphones. Ever. The sound is sooo damn crisp and balanced. :D After I bought these, I read a review on www.stuff.tv and I was like 'F*CK YEA' when I saw that they placed it on no.2 in their top ten headphones list. I totally lol'd when I saw Bose Quietcomfort 15 on no.3 xD
