Tried the D3DOverrider, didnt feel a big difference, but the tearing is pretty much gone and honestly I dont really care about that much
Yeah my GPU is controlled by MSI Afterburner and Fan speed and temps are kept under check. The GTX 9xx series are pretty good with heat management.
Nice Shots - what are final settings are you running the game on?
I've been playing with a lot of settings and pretty much like the ones I posted earlier....
It seems the real killer is MSAA. It really takes a hit on the performance but my god the difference in graphics is staggering... see for yourself.
FSAA ON, MSAA OFF, TXAA OFF [Everything else ON,100%,VeryHigh/Ultra including Ultra Grass]
FSAA ON, MSAA 4X, TXAA ON [Everything else ON,100%,VeryHigh/Ultra including Ultra Grass]
At first it seems that the second image has less grass, but in reality, its so well anti-aliased that it blends in the involvement. It doesnt look like the grass was stuck on the world like it does with FSAA. This image may not mean much but once you play the game the difference is quiet clear and you can feel everything blending nicely in the world. Nothing feels out of place.
I also experimented with 4K. Turning DSR on in the nvidia control panel, switching game aspect ratio to 16:9 and choosing the 3840 x 2160 [4K] res.
I had to turn off MSAA regular and reflection to avoid over shooting the VRAM limit. The game ran flawless, it ran as good as it did with 1080P with MSAA off.
The 4K image was crisp (obviously) but it sadly lacked the environmental blending MSAA provided. That's just my opinion and thats how I felt. So I switched back to 1080P MSAA 4X. I do miss the details on faces the 4K brings... sigh, I need an SLI setup to get the best of both worlds lol!
Hope this info helps those playing with Graphic settings - see my profile for detailed system specs.
