They got what they wanted in the first 15 mins and didn't want to tire themselves scoring more because they knew the uninspiring France would never equalize against a defence like that. Their confidence was almost condescending to France.

Germany had a valid penalty claim early on in the match when Debuchy pulled Klose down with his shirt.

France need to stop relying on penalties. I think they've only scored in penalties in their last 4-5 matches against strong oppositions. (counting from WC 2006)
