Rooting allows you to modify system files and mess around with your phone. You can customize it, backup your data and sometimes make your phone faster.
When you root your phone, an app called Superuser (sometimes SuperSU is used as well). What Superuser does is that it allows an access to the /system partition for an app that demands root access.
There are many apps on the Play Store that require root access.
- StickMount (USB OTG)
- Greenify (Preserves RAM)
- S Tweaks (For Samsung devices running Siyah Kernel)
- CWM Manager (Lets you do some stuff with CWM without booting into it)
- Triangle Away (Resets the binary flash counter for Samsung phones)
- Titanium Backup Pro (Backs up everything)
Hope, I've helped.
