The previous Punjab Govt did wonderful job of distributing laptops, green tractors, danish schools, solar lamps, hospitals etc etc. Very nice. Very nice. Who paid for it? We all did by our taxes. If that laptop money would have been used to create IT facilities at colleges and universities i.e computer labs, IT infrastructure, it would have benefited not one but multiple generations. Improved the institutional standings of these educational centers and hence strengthen the institutions. If they had introduced agricultural reforms instead of just handing out tractors, it would have done a lot more good in the longer run. My point being that the old parties blame Military for weakening institutions while they themselves have no idea of what they themselves are doing to the system. Take Danish schools for example. Run by the provincial exchequer, these schools admit children of our under-privileged class and introduce them to not only to quality education but also a lifestyle not seen by their families. Then we fault these kids for not wanting to even go back home during holidays because their homes are really in tatters. And how are they going to survive after high school. Will we create similar universities? And how are we going to run them? Where will all the money come from? Why didn't these people improve the systems of govt high schools instead of investing billions in to creating new unproven and potentially hazardous infrastructure? If you visualize this scenario, it might be clear to us that given their chance, they have undermined the system themselves also. I also heard they spent quite some money on Lahore? What about Rajanpur, Toba Tek Singh, Qasoor, Patoki etc. Do they belong to another country?

So if I understand you right, you want that the power be shared case in point the past five years. Your argument is that since nobody has absolute power, nobody can do bad. That being the point, why was 18th amendment used to lift the restriction on number of tenures on PM's and CM's. So that the same people can come in power over and over and form coalition governments. If that is the case, then these guys do enjoy absolute power. Only, their voting symbols are not the same i.e arrow, tiger, cycle etc etc. Additionally, to the well ranted point of successfully completing five years of stable rule since there is no quick fix to the massive problems we are facing, I guess the intensity of these problems has quadrupled (x4) in these years. Now if you are going to counter argue baby steps or slow starts, I suggest you reminisce 1990's. All these guys were there. So they know the problems. They have been in power for quite some time. They know how things work. Given their experience, they should probably have worked so well that IK or other non-mainstream parties shouldn't have a base at all. Instead, Pakistan is on the brink of economic collapse with highest inflation in years. Search the term hyperinflation and you'll know what inflation leads to. Blame it on the security condition caused by Zia and Mush that is there is no investment here, I ask you then why the local industry is packing and shifting to BD or SL? Security crisis? No sir, more like power and bhatta crisis. Lets please talk ground realities instead of holding jalsaas here. Peace!
are you kidding me , kindly visit industrial area of karachi they are generating most of there energy by them self even provide energy to servant quarters as well , as far as bhata concern , it is same criminal element whom doing all this chaos in city and that is the reason why i am talking about zia whom bring these afg here along with weapons and drugs culture and in my previous para i didn't talk about IK experiences or not it was about absolute power make ever one mad that's it either it is IK or any one else and 18th amendment is not just about up lift the ban from person to not sit in CM/PM seat after 3rd turn , it is more then this , it empower more to provinces so they may able to handle there matter internally which include energy crises as well in which ONLY Punjab govt failed to perform where in sindh situation is much better .

Electricity situation is better in Karachi because KESC Generates half of Karachi's demand locally with no interference from Sindh Government

No matter how much we blame Punjab Government for not tackling grass root problems it is still far far ahead in performance compared to Sindh Government

And what absolute power are u talking about? Do u even know Democracy works? :S

That will only happen when one party gets 2/3 Majority which will not happen

Yes they dont have a single qualified person among their ranks despite being the largest party in Pakistan

Wow Chhowni
There has been a surge of votes in favour of PTI in this poll. It was languishing at around 73% a few days back.
Comfortable sitting at 75.67% as of this moment (sm2)

I've always been poorly cognizant of the political landscape of Pakistan due to being severly disillusioned by the elements involved. This election, though, is a little different.

I've witnessed the constant power shuffle between PML and PPP. We put one party in power, get fed up, shift allegiance, and perpetuate an alternating cycle brought on mostly by desperation. We have bounced back and forth between the devil and the deep blue sea, to ruinous results.

One doesn't require inordinate perspicacity to realize that the sum of all the efforts of any government over the past two decades has been declivitous regression. Lauding relatively minor and superficial improvements in any field is tantamount to celebrating the resolution of a minor headache when the patient is dying of cancer. The efforts by recent governments have been of the band aid variety, designed to placate the population with symptomatic aid rather than tackling core issues. Symptomatic, partial, and temporary relief from deep rooted issues that have remained unresolved in the long term.

Why does Punjab get the lions share of governmental efforts when PML is in power? Its politically motivated preferential treatment of a subset of the Pakistani population, designed to secure the loyalty and the votes of our uneducated, unthinking, desperate masses.

Voting is an endeavor of limited choices. One perspective would be to believe Imran Khan is the noble savior we've been waiting for. Or, if your time in this country has made you cynical, that he might be the least political evil. So how should a nation desperate for a turn of fate approach these elections? Should we let our cynicism drive us to inaction or folly, or should we vote for the best chance for change, no matter how slight that chance?

Either way, it seems that from a purely logical perspective, they cynics and the dreamers should unite.

So i visited Karachi Yesterday and there were literally Kites, Kites everywhere.

But what's with MQM and using the evergreen young picture of Altaf Bhai? Saw it on many of the boards. Are they asking for votes or for Rishta of Altaf Bhai?

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
