i always knew that Drive Club will just fail in comparison to Forza but never thought it would fail in one thing, capturing the essence and passion of racing exotic cars. i mean how can we forget that freaky E3 onstage presentation lol

I think these devs were delisional to believe that social aspect alone would take their games to success.

Bloodborne looks very good. But I don't see it becoming the system seller some people are hoping it to be. Greatness is still awaiting, as the saying goes. :kaz:

Two of the best developers out there are making exclusive titles for the PS4. Bloodborne and Uncharted 4 are set for release next year. Sony Santa Monica's unannounced title (led by GoW2 director, Cory Balrog) is also expected to be top-tier.

I shouldn't have to remind you that this is the PS4's first year. Go back and look at the PS3's first year. It was pretty much the same story.

This game looked a little 'off' even in the countless videos I saw. Where you can easily feel the quality of the gameplay on something like Forza, Driveclub gave an overly strong arcade vibe.

It's funny....now that the review is out...all I'm reading is "yes the game looked weird, yes something was off".....whereas before...it was "wow, I heard the AI is responsive and the 30fps is solid"...Wowsers!

Man if you guys think the reviews are bad .. listen to the latest bombcast (around 30 minute mark). Jeff Gerstmann RIPS the game apart. He says .. some paraphrasing.. the following:

- The game plays like a 15 year old simulation game.
- The game doesn't have a car-store etc, you can only 'unlock' cars the game wants you to, even then the library is very small.
- There is only ONE option for driving customization, auto or manual, nothing else.
- The game PENALIZES you by limiting speed for a few seconds if you go off-road (WTF ?)
- Jeff calls it "profoundly disappointing".
- He says that the driving in this driving game is terrible, a very troubling thing for a racer.
- Regarding visuals he says the game looks ok, doesn't have the impact of the original release and has bad road textures here and
- The AI is 'magnetized' to the road, like PS1 games, rubberbanding to the extreme.


and finally .. the part that made me laugh aloud.

Weather effects like rain that were featured in most pre-release material, is not shipping with the retail disc, it will be PATCHED IN a little later ..

Another example of meeting the deadlines mess. Sony is trying hard to get a number of games under its belt before the holiday season. Sadly it has only damaged them so far.
