Ali Liebert Cast As The White Canary's Love Interest In DC's Legends Of Tomorrow

The White Canary on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be getting a new love interest according to a report from EW. Ali Liebert has been cast on the series to play a potential love interest for the Sara Lance, who is played by Caity Lotz.
Liebert previously appeared on both Kyle XY and Fringe, and she will play Lindsay Carlisle on DC's Legends of Tomorrow. According to the EW description, Carlisle is "a soft-spoken, intelligent lady who is the ideal picture of 1950s womanhood. Although she might seem at home amongst the strict morals of the time, she harbors a dark secret: she’s a lesbian. Confused and scared, it seems she is doomed to suffer alone in a backwards time … until she falls for a girl from the future, Sara Lance."

In the episode that Carlisle is introduced in, Sara Lance is trapped out of time and place in 1958 ‘Pleasantville, America’. Executive producer Phil Klemmer said, "After Sara was brought back from the dead on Arrow, she hasn’t been herself — she’s been consumed by a quest for bloodshed and incapable of having romantic feelings for anyone. The strict social norms of the fifties makes this the last place Sara Lance would ever expect to find love with a young, closeted nurse, but that’s how love works — it finds you.”
As Arrow fans know, Sara was previously in relationships with both Oliver Queen and Nyssa al Ghul.

Legends of Tomorrow debuts on January 21, 2016.

I'm glad they are staying true to Sara's character. I was worried they would listen to shippers demands, and hook her up with Ray Palmer, and ruin her personality, and ruin all the bad ass build-up Arrow did in Season 2.

[h=1]Legends of Tomorrow Will Meet Past and Future Versions of Arrow & The Flash[/h]

The CW has been building up its DC Comics shared television universe over the past few years, first with the launch of Arrow, then with the show’s spinoff series, The Flash, and now with the network’s upcoming third comic book superhero program, Legends of Tomorrow. As part of The CW’s shared DC Comics universe, characters from both The Flash and Arrow have shared the small screen a number of times, including their large crossover events each season — the most recent of which pit Team Arrow and Team Flash against Vandal Savage (Casper Crump), who will go on to be the main villain of Legends of Tomorrow.
Aside from the larger events, Arrow and The Flash have also featured smaller crossovers, such as John Diggle (David Ramsey) and Lyla Michaels’ (Audrey Marie Anderson) upcoming trip to Central City in order to recapture King Shark. Now, in keeping with this CW/DC television universe tradition, it seems Legends of Tomorrow will include some of these smaller crossovers with the Arrow and The Flash heroes during its first season as well.

EW is reporting that executive producer and DC Comics TV universe architect Greg Berlanti revealed at the TCA winter press tour there will be crossovers “intermittent throughout,” but because Legends of Tomorrow tells a time-travel story, it’s more difficult to feature characters from other series. However, Berlanti teases a look at the history of Arrow and The Flash:
“It’s intermittent throughout. Because they’re a band of time traveling rogues, it’s harder for Arrow and Flash to be connected story wise to it throughout the season. That being said, if you know the histories of Arrow and Flash, it should be extra fun in its own way as we delve deeper and deeper into the characters lives.”

Some crossovers have already been confirmed for Legends of Tomorrow, like the appearance of Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Noble) — who met his death in season 3 of Arrow — as well as Oliver Queen’s (Stephen Amell) current foe Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), and Barry Allen’s (Grant Gustin) friend/ally Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes). Additionally, Legends of Tomorrow executive producer and showrunner Phil Klemmer said there is a “100 percent chance” the show will feature older and/or younger versions of Oliver and Barry: “We will have a couple marked crossover moments that hopefully will keep people satisfied.”
Aside from the appearance of the Green Arrow and The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow is already combining characters from its fellow CW series to create a large cast: Ray Palmer/The Atom (Brandon Routh) and Sara Lance/White Canary (Caity Lotz) from Arrow; Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller), Mick Rory/Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell), as well as Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh) a.k.a. Firestorm from The Flash. Additionally, though Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl (Ciara René) and Carter Hall/Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) appeared on both shows, they will be joining Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) as the newest heroes in The CW’s shared universe.

Though we don’t know much about many of these planned crossovers, Berlanti’s comment on knowing the histories of Arrow and The Flash may hint that the Legends will revisit past events from those two series, or perhaps offer insight into the heroes’ futures. But, with so many characters sharing the screen in Legends of Tomorrow, it seems likely the cameos and crossovers with Arrow and The Flash will be on the smaller side.
That being said, though, the prospect of seeing different iterations of known characters from within The CW’s DC universe, whether from the past or future, is exciting. The Flash has dealt with time travel in the past, and will be featuring Earth-2 alternate versions of its main characters in an upcoming episode. But, with Legends of Tomorrow focusing on a number of different time periods, both from the past and future, it may well depict new and compelling sides to already established heroes (and/or villains) — adding an extra bonus for fans of The CW DC universe who watch Legends of Tomorrow.

The Flash
will return on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, while Arrow will return on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 and Legends of Tomorrow will see its series premiere on Thursday, January 21, 2016.

[h=1]DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Will Feature A Jonah Hex Appearance[/h]

The CW’s upcoming DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will assemble a motley crew of superheroes and villains that’ve previously appeared on Arrow and/or The Flash on a time-travel adventure to prevent the immortal Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) from taking over the world in the future. Series creators Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg have designed Legends of Tomorrow to have an anthology narrative structure; as such, season 1 will feature a largely self-contained storyline, even as it continues to expand the CW’s DC TV show universe and introduce more characters into the mix.
So far, the known list of new additions who will appear on Legends of Tomorrow season 1 includes a new love interest for White Canary (Caity Lotz) and a robotics experts portrayed by fan-favorite Firefly alum Jewel Straite. There will be a number of familiar faces who pop up for an episode or two as well; including, older versions of two well-known superheroes. Moreover, we now have confirmation that the Legends will cross paths with one particularly well-known DC Comics characters who’s never appeared in the Arrow/Flash-verse before: Jonah Hex.

Guggenheim revealed the news during an interview with Variety, where he explained that Jonah Hex will appear in a Legends of Tomorrow episode that takes the Legends back to the Old West (see his quote below). However, for the time being, the identity of the actor who will bring Hex to life on the CW TV show remains under-wraps.
“Ever since we decided that ‘Legends’ would involve time travel, we were eager to do a story set in the Old West. But if you’re going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply MUST include Jonah Hex in it. We’re thrilled about bringing another well known, beloved DC character to television.”

Jonah Hex, for those unfamiliar, is a hard-edged and heavily-scarred former Confederate soldier-turned bounty from the Old West in the DC Comics. Hex made appearances on such DC cartoon TV shows as Justice League and Batman: The Brave and the Bold, prior to his live-action appearance with the 2010 Jonah Hex movie (starring Josh Brolin as its namesake) – itself, an unabashed critical and commercial flop alike. Hence, there’s really no where for the Hex character to go but up when it comes to his live-action iteration on Legends of Tomorrow (regardless of who plays him).
Keep in mind: while Jonah Hex appearing on Legends of Tomorrow means that he will officially become part of The CW’s shared DC TV show continuity as a result, that doesn’t mean he’ll become more than a (hopefully fun) one-off guest star. Case in point: Matt Ryan’s John Constantine showed up during an episode of Arrow season 4 back in 2015, but for the time being it remains unclear if the character will ever show up on Arrow again or another CW/DC series in the future – much less, have his own TV show resurrected. Hex will probably be in the same boat, after Legends of Tomorrow season 1 is done.
Then again, who knows – The CW is clearly looking to keep its DC TV show universe going after Arrow and The Flash are both done, between the creation of Legends of Tomorrow and the way the network is keeping its options open regarding potential future superhero TV shows (like, for example, a Vixen live-action series). A Jonah Hex TV show would be a different sort of genre series altogether than anything else currently airing on The CW, so there’s room for one to flourish – though that possibility depends on how viewers take to Jonah Hex on Legends of Tomorrow in the first place, of course.

The Flash
will return on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, while Arrow will return on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 and Legends of Tomorrow will see its series premiere on Thursday, January 21, 2016.

[h=1]DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Casts Johnathon Schaech as Jonah Hex[/h]

The DC’s Legends of Tomorrow series was created with characters plucked from the episodes of already successful CW shows Arrow and The Flash. Introducing a time travel element to the spin-off means the showrunners also have their pick of heroes and villains from the entire DC universe.
Time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) leads the Legends of Tomorrow team through the decades in an attempt to disrupt the immortal Vandal Savage’s (Casper Crump) plan to destroy the world as we know it. The characters from our present day will travel back and forth through time, seeking out those moments that can trigger the “butterfly effect” on everything that comes after. It looks like one of those pivotal moments will occur during America’s Wild West days.
We learned last week that iconic character Jonah Hex would make an appearance on an upcoming episode of Legends of Tomorrow. For series co-creator Marc Guggenheim, this decision was a no-brainer, explaining that “if you’re going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply MUST include Jonah Hex in it.” Now we know who will be portraying the tough Civil War vet bounty hunter.

According to CBR, Johnathon Schaech will be taking on the violent gunslinger-with-a-code role. Previously seen on another CW show, the short-lived alien teen series Star-Crossed, the actor most recently starred in frontier drama Texas Rising. Schaech has also appeared on TV in Quantico, Sleepy Hollow, Ray Donovan, and another historical mini-series, To Appomattox.
The character Jonah Hex was original created for DC Comics by writer John Albano and artist Tony DeZuniga. He first appeared briefly in All Star Western #10 in 1971, with a full-story follow up a year later. His personal timeline has been largely tragic over the years, including being sold as a teenager by his father to an Apache chief. Eventually branded and burned for killing the chief’s traitorous son, Hex collected many more scars from battles and betrayals during his stint in the Confederate Army and later as a bounty hunter. The official description for his Legends of Tomorrow version includes a little something extra.
“A true legend of the Old West, a morally ambiguous gunslinger with a penchant for danger. Surprisingly, he knows a thing or two about time travel and the future, but is at home in the Wild West. He’s been battling outlaws and gangs for a while now, and advises the team to be extra careful when they arrive in the small town of Salvation.”

Hex will appear in the 11th episode of Legends of Tomorrow’s first season, and it seems possible his knowledge of time travel may have come from a previous visit by Vandal Savage. The series’ main characters include Ray Palmer/the Atom (Brandon Routh); Sara Lance/the White Canary (Caity Lotz); Carter Hall/Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) and Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée); Firestorm, a.k.a. Professor Martin Stein (Victor Garber) and Jefferson “Jax” Jackson (Franz Drameh); and the criminal team of Captain Cold/Leonard Snart (Wentworth Miller) and Heat Wave/Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell).
Schaech has a knack for “morally ambiguous” characters, and his recent history with Civil War/Wild West dramas should make it easy for him to slip into the character. A recent tweet from the actor shows he’s more than ready to have fun with the role, too. The description’s wording makes it sound like Hex will be a help to the Legends team, but whether his intentions are noble or not, it’s going to be a lot of fun seeing how any or all of this crazy group of characters will try to blend with the locals in the Old West.

The Flash
will return on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, while Arrow will return on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 and Legends of Tomorrow will see its series premiere on Thursday, January 21, 2016.

Just watched it, it's pretty good, but nothing amazing. But it's still a good start, as it's the pilot episode. Most of the footage from the trailers was seen from this episode. Lets see what else this show brings. Next episode doesn't look like it will be anything epic. I guess the show will start getting epic after a few eps. Weird how Oliver made an appearance in this, but not Barry. Can't wait for the Connor Hawke, Damien Darhk, Ra's Al Ghul focused episodes!

[h=1]Legends of Tomorrow Casts Ant-Man Villain as Rip Hunter Mentor[/h]

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has now debuted on The CW, to generally positive reviews. Bringing together heroes and villains from both Arrow and The Flash, the series is set to be a game changer for DC’s television universe – as the show’s unlikely squad rips back and forth across time, altering the course of history in ways that threaten to ripple throughout both of its parent shows.
Led by the mysterious Time Master Rip Hunter (Arthur Darville, Doctor Who), superheroes The Atom (Brandon Routh), White Canary (Caity Lotz), Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée), and Firestorm (Victor Garber and Franz Drameh) find themselves teaming up with Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and his partner Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) to face off against the villainous Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) in a battle that spans history. While the series has only just begun, a new casting announcement and character description has been released that sheds light on what might be coming in future episodes.
IGN has confirmed the casting of Martin Donovan (Ant-Man) as Rip Hunter’s Time Master Academy mentor, Druce. The character is set to make his debut in Legends of Tomorrow’s fourth episode, titled “White Knights”. So far, Donovan has only been confirmed for one episode, but there is a possibility the character will be recurring.

According to reports, Druce is a respected Time Master who looks upon his former mentee as his own son. Despite being well known for his ability to mediate disturbances in the timeline, Druce will supposedly be imploring Hunter and his team to give up their pursuit of Savage, pitting the two against each other and possibly leading to deadly confrontation.
Donovan is of course no stranger to playing a comic book villain, having played Hydra mole Mitchell Carson in last year’s Ant-Man. DC is, of course, an entirely different beast from Marvel, but at the very least we know that he should be bringing the right amount of intensity to the role. How it will all play out, however, is still up in the air.
The immortal Savage has minions that span all of time, and it makes sense that he would find followers within the Time Masters to help his plans for total domination. Of course, Druce might not be a minion so much as he sees the fight against Savage as a futile endeavor. This seems unlikely given reports that Druce and Hunter’s confrontation could turn deadly, but anything is possible in this universe and we won’t know for sure what his loyalties truly are until “White Knights” hits the airwaves.

Comic book readers will note that Druce is a departure from traditional lore. There, Hunter’s mentor is fan favorite Booster Gold—who also happens to be Rip Hunter’s father as a young man thanks to time travel logic. The change is eyebrow raising. While it’s possible that ignoring Booster Gold and the father/son dynamic was easier on the narrative, some have wondered if his exclusion might be indicative of plans for the character elsewhere in the DCEU or DCTV. That does fit with DC’s MO, given that plans for Harley Quinn in Arrow were thrown out due to her appearance in Suicide Squad.
For now though, it seems that DC and The CW are keen to keep their secrets as secret as possible, and little else is known about Druce’s upcoming appearance. There’ll no doubt be more clues in the coming weeks, and we’ll keep you posted on any and all developments.

Legends of Tomorrow
airs Thursday nights at 8pm, following The Flash on Tuesdays and Arrow on Wednesdays in the same timeslot.
