I just had a chance to run a Cooler Express 2010/2011 CE-48-S-1C Single Stage Phase cooing unit through it's paces and here is a little review on this unit.
I am a Phase Cooling nut case, I love these things and this unit surpased my expectations.
Thanks to sdumper for all his help with this !
This is a new unit from Cooler Express and it has a much better load handling capability than earlyer units. I am told it's new watt load rating is 280watts which is actually pretty close to my custom made Jinu unit so I had an idea on what to expect from the Cooler Express unit.
The unit was ordered and came right from Taipei Taiwan. Shipping was handled very well and it actually only took 2 days to get to my place in California. This is about as fast as Newegg products get to me so I was very pleased with that
Here is a picture of how the unit looks when I recieve it.
It's a very strong box with strapping for added reinforcement.
No damage what so ever on the box and it looked is very good shape.
Lets open up the box and see how it's packed inside.
Everything is neat, in order and packaged well.
Taking the unit out of the box and setting in the table you see it's shrink wrapped well.
Here it is after taking off all the wrapping. This unit looks very, very good
Power switch and temp display on the front.
And the Evap
And the back of the unit.
I took off the side panel to show the insides, everyone whats to see what powers this unit I bet
The inside is spotless and very, very clean
A nice size condensor is installed.
And of course the compressors which is a good unit I believe.
The accessory package is well supplied with everything you need. The instruction manual is very well done also.
The included evap clam shell is also a clear type which was a nice surprise. It looks very good.
The length of the suction line I though was going to be a issue, this unit is made for shorter ATX cases, but it fit perfectly with a little slack to spare in my build. I am told that if a longer suction line is needed this can be done.
Just a quick picture of what it looks like all mounted up to a CPU. Lots of wire clean up to do here still but this was for running tests.
For testing I had the unit mounted to a 980x @ 5.27ghz with 1.6vcore with HT on. It could handle everything I threw at it just fine with out a problem what so ever. wPrime long dropped temps down to -25c which was no problem, it also recoved very fast from that run and others. With this CPU overclock temps on the desktop was sitting at -39c.
Here is a short youtube of the unit showing pull down speed and operation.

The only thing that I could say about this unit is the condenser fan makes to much noise, but other than that the unit is extremely well done and powerfull.
Cost of this unit is a little higher than custom built units, but what you get is well worth the investment imo.
Now a lot of units these days are built as benching unit which are much bigger, this unit is really built for 24/7 use but it can fill both roles very easly
I give the Cooler Express 2010/2011 CE-48-S-1C a 9/10 rating
A quieter condensor fan would give it a 10/10
Thanks and I hope you enjoyed reading this !
