To all those who are eager to get Connect connection. I must warn you first.

For Gamers: You will get awesome pings to international as well as local servers but, there's a problem. The 'ping' will break after every 5 seconds because of their overcrowded DNS/VPN servers. Means, your online gaming will suffer (lag).

For Youtubers: There is no way you can run proxy or ip changing software to run youtube. It won't work. even if it works the speed will be miserable.

For torrentors: The torrents are capped to 1/3rd of your connection speed. you'll get 80kbps speed on 2mb connection.

For Movie Sharing (dodear): They no doubt have a wide collection of movies, songs etc. But, speed is entirely based on luck. On some movies you'll get above 2-3 mbps speed but on some it won't go above 20-30 kbps.

For web browsing: Browsing is smooth, no issues in it.

as I said before for me its 1500/- well spent so fat. yes the whole VPN structure is very bourgeoisie but I just want good browsing and pings in 6-12 timing im home from work. Jis din tang keran gay us din nikalwa donga.

re; torrents speeds, they let it loose around 4am-11am period. regarding your comment abt pings breaking, ive noticed if you play during heavy traffic timings e.g. Sundays/Saturdays

Quite informative and that is why i am asking it to see wether i would go for it or not, and plus we dont know yet till for how long they won't increase the price of their purple package which is 3000/- per month right now and if they move to 4k or 5k with in a month then defanetly it would be out of budget for me at least

Yeah the only benefits you have are unlimited downloads, superb HD 1080p streaming. In midnight after 2:30 AM speed increase to 600 KBps till around 12 PM midday.

Im up for proper browsing and can settle for constant 150-200ms gaming.

same situation here , i m on 4 Mbps red package , HTTP speed is 510 Kb/sec during day , and 650 Kb/sec during nite (3am till midday)

torrents are 180 Kb/sec during daytime and 280 Kb/sec fix during nite time (nite time = starts at 3am , ends at i think midday-not confirmed)

Connect is DSL? I mean, I have had issues with DSL connections in the past with PTCL, the wire breaks and then no body comes to fix it. Also, is this with wifi or will I have to get my own router?

and why would they give u a wifi??? this is similar to those cable net...

they will just give u a wire and u need to plug that in ur pc

wifi will be from ur own pocket if u need it

whatever you use you cant bypass the torrent speed limit. I have used hotspot shield with PTCL connection but after turning it on you are no longer able to download the torrent.

I have VIP accounts on the private trackers that I use, I neither have to maintain a ratio nor do I have to wait any specific period of time. In my case, can I expect full 10Mbps download speed? If I even get around 800kbps consistently, I'd consider getting this connection.

Well there is a confusion in your mind I think dont relate your VIP account with connection communication account, I have too private trackers accounts but torrent speed is limited here not there on your private tracker site so dont expect full speed.

Furthermore, connect works on routers (TP LINK only) and i use hotspot sheild for youtube without any issue. As far as torrent throttling is concerned it has been a pathetic step by connect and yeah as most of the posts say that they let torrent free after midnight or 2am, i havent seen any such speeds with my bandwidth being monitored 24/7 by softwares installed on all my computers. Ohh and just for the records i use connect red

I get 200KBps during daytime and 300KBps after midnight i.e. i guess after 2 30am till 4pm (not sure though)
