I will post speedtest result later when I reached home. Speedtest give me 9.8 Mbps and Upload 2.56 Mbps something but again let me tell you the test is based on HTTP services.

The only deal breaker is the slow torrent speeds. Else I'm very tempted to get it. Btw a question guys, do VPN's like Spotflux or Hotspot Shield work with connect?

Also are there any upfront installation charges?

no settings... i changed to fiber and started getting 600kb/s speeds... then after a couple of months it jumped to 900kb/s... don't know why...

I notice you got hotspot shield turned off. Can you use it with Connect? coz whenever I try to my net goes all haywire, have to reconnect it again and even then Im unable to get that download prompt in youtube videos that you normally get through IDM...

yeah they work you just have to reconnect your internet sometimes...

imo the 2mb/4mb packages are the best value for money. Ive figured out this is the best service to go for if youve got a lot of facebook/general browser people at your home connected via wifi.

Also one more thing Im noticing; ptcl is suddenly upgrading its packages, connects done the same thing, im waiting for Worldcall to announce something.... has there been some changes in bandwidth rates from backend or PTA?? [MENTION=4990]AlienX[/MENTION], [MENTION=11094]StrikerX[/MENTION]

whatever you use you cant bypass the torrent speed limit. I have used hotspot shield with PTCL connection but after turning it on you are no longer able to download the torrent.

so this was the shit.. now how many of us download from IDM, i mean most of the movies are downloaded via torrent
and if one is paying dam 3k and also bearing that shitty service i mean router hang, and if electricity goes in the main area so internet doesnt work in places

and calling again and again to the internet wala k bhai ping toot rahi hay, switch restart kardain and all this

believe me used connect for a year or so and i have been through this , thus i shifted to ptcl and MashaALLAH no issues
hot spot work great


10mbps is worthless of connect since if torrent is giving u 300kbps then its shit, is say behtar tou ptcl hay k 4mbps per aap ko 400kbps tou milti hay...

thank god i didnt went back to connect

brother hotspot shield doesnt work on connect i have tested my self, i think it doesnt work bcoz u are already using a Vpn connection and a vpn software cant work on vpn connection

So far its been giving me steady pings on DOTA and mw3 servers. for that im happy. torrents give steady 150-200k speeds.... thats also convenient.

WHat I look forward to most in a connection is RELIABILITY. Like worldcall, which was my first preference after switching from ptcl but I wanted to atleast try Connect first. Gonna see how it performs in the upcoming rain season...

Regarding ptcl, even IF i decide to go for it, I wont settle for anything less than that fiber till kerb scene... which is proly gonna take another 2 years or so.

also going for 10mbps Connect seems stupid according to the general consensus here, since their 2mb/4mb provide much more value for money than that...

I'm very much dissapointed with Connect Purple package (10Mbps) when I used torrent, the maximum speed you can get is 300 KBps on private tracker !!! I'm shocked when I have seen that, even my PTCL 4Mbps connection gave me 440 KBps on torrent easily. I shooted an email to the connect support that why I dont getting the full speed they reply maximum speed you can get on torrent is 160 KBps to 200 what the HELL !!!!. Although on direct downloads you will get full speed i.e 1.2MBps, now decide whether you are comfortable with 300 KBps or torrent is not your main priority. If you want torrent with more speed I advise you do not take the 10Mbps connection till they remove the limit from torrent. Now I understand why PTCL giving 10Mbps connection with a price of 10K because they do not limit you in any place.

Quite informative and that is why i am asking it to see wether i would go for it or not, and plus we dont know yet till for how long they won't increase the price of their purple package which is 3000/- per month right now and if they move to 4k or 5k with in a month then defanetly it would be out of budget for me at least

For Gamers: You will get awesome pings to international as well as local servers but, there's a problem. The 'ping' will break after every 5 seconds because of their overcrowded DNS/VPN servers. Means, your online gaming will suffer (lag).

For Youtubers: There is no way you can run proxy or ip changing software to run youtube. It won't work. even if it works the speed will be miserable.

For torrentors: The torrents are capped to 1/3rd of your connection speed. you'll get 80kbps speed on 2mb connection.

For Movie Sharing (dodear): They no doubt have a wide collection of movies, songs etc. But, speed is entirely based on luck. On some movies you'll get above 2-3 mbps speed but on some it won't go above 20-30 kbps.

For web browsing: Browsing is smooth, no issues in it.

thanks buddy very informative post, i had full programe to get it but now i have to consider. in 3K per month we have other options
