What initial payment? The 82.5gbp that I had to pay was for registration as a student.
Yes that payment. I didnt even have to pay that :p. But after i claimed my exemption from the next year they started making it compulsory to register as a student and pay 82.5gbp. So if i have to claim more exemptions, ill have to pay the registration fee.

Yes atleast 6.5k

The Case study paper policy will change from july 2014. From the july 2014 attempt, there is no restriction to attempt the Case study module of ICAEW in the last year of your training contract. You can attempt it anytime even if you don't have a training contract. Its part of the changes implemented by the ICAEW to their ACA qualification in July 2013.

Well im not sure if you can do that. If youve read this thread, we've discussed ALOT of times how reciprocal exemptions are not allowed. Which mean you cant claim exemptions in ICAP if you've done ICAEW through claiming exemptions in it via ACCA. But theres no hard fact that someones request actually got accepted or rejected by ICAP till today.

And id advice you NOT to aim on being just a 'finalist'. Nowadays, there are alot of qualified professionals looking for jobs and every relevant job demands a qualified accountant. So whereever you apply as a Finalist, there will be a Fully qualified applicant who will have the edge of a qualification over you. So keep your priority to BE QUALIFIED.
well obviously if i'll apply for exemptions then i'll pass as well,y wud i linger CA for just 2papers
but is it really true that they care if some1 did ICAEW via exemptions or without that because nothing like that is mentioned on their site, where they straight forwardly stated that if u have 2yr experience along with ICAEW then u qualify for ICAP exemption leaving only 2 papers

has any1 ever claimed this exemption?my friend was also going to go through this route who suggested this to me,if i cant get ICAP exemption then i dont think there's any future or use of ICAEW in PAKISTAN,is it?

i mean like if some1 is applying for job n has ACCA alone n other one has ACCA + ICAEW then wouldnt they prefer the later one?
i dont like audit n wont give P7 for nothing otherwise i'll go for P4 instead

also i dont have any other qualification in my mind to go for after ACCA but acca alone wont survive in this market

Another question. If an acca student (with p6 passed but p7 remaining) claims exemption of ICAEW, would he have to give all the remaining papers of icaew abroad or just the audit paper?
u wont get exemption unless u have passed 14 papers of acca
n if u pass any other paper wid p6 other than p7 then u will get exemptions upto 10 papers instead of 12 papers n its mentioned on their site that u can attempt icaew in pakistan only if u have 12 papers passed/exempted otherwise u cant attempt here

Are you sure this is true? When I researched on their website, I found some different info...
Can anyone please check if this is the case? What would be the implications if i register with ICAEW with p6 passed but not p7...

u can get exemption in icaew even if u have passed just 1 paper of acca. i myself claimed exemptions in icaew before i completed acca. u can either give p7 equivalent paper in icaew or give p7 and claim its exemption later on.

Oh, thanks for the relief. Got a l little worried by reading gamer11's post...

So If right now I register and claim exemption (with only 13/14 papers passed of ACCA), i'd be left with only 4 papers of ICAEW, and I can get a further exemption of the fourth paper if I pass P7 in future... This is the case right?
Also, would I be able to give the 3 of the remaining papers (excluding the audit one) in Pakistan? or would i have to give all of the remaining exams abroad? Because its written in their website that if anyone who is not an ACCA affiliate claims exemption, he cannot complete the ICAEW in Pakistan. The statement is a little unclear...

Btw, after which papers of ACCA did you register with ICAEW?

claim exemptions of 11 papers in icaew ( based on 13 papers passed in acca) then pass p7 and claim the remaining paper exemption in icaew so tht comes to 12 exemptions in icaew based on 14 paper's of acca ( p6.7 as options)..... YES u can give the remaining 3 papers in pakistan. In pakistan we can only give the last 3 papers of icaew.

Has anyone applied for CPL for ICAEW ACA after the current result of ACCA?
I did and I've received the CPL for all 12 papers of Certificate and Professional Level or at least it says so when I check the Examinations tab in my "Training file" on the ICAEW website.
Also when I check the CPL application status in my profile, it says that I've been awarded the exemptions.
However, when I try to apply for the Advanced level exams (Nov 2013), it says that I'm not eligible :/
It says the same thing when I choose Professional level exams (Dec 2013).
Even though in the examinations tab in my profile, it specifically mentions that I've completed Certificate and Professional Levels.
Anybody else facing the same issue or am I missing something?
Have emailed them already. Just thought I might ask here as well.

well you can always call them and ask on their student support helpline . they will instantly solve your problem. And the call rate of UK isnt really expensive.
I often called them when i registered with ICAEW. They are very helpful.

Well do you mean accountant or auditor? Being an accountant in industry for a company is relatively easier than being an auditor.. being an auditor in big 4 means lots of late sittings and lots of work and khuwari.. but you get to learn alot as an auditor
