From Software's gothic, Victorian-era action role-playing game Bloodborne will come to North America on Feb. 6, 2015, Sony Computer Entertainment announced today. That's one day after the PlayStation 4-exclusive game makes its debut in Japan.



When Bloodborne releases stateside, PS4 owners will have the option of buying a collector's edition of the game, SCEA confirmed on the PlayStation Blog. The premium edition costs $79.99 and comes with a Steelbook collector's case, an art book featuring concept art from the game and a digital copy of the game's complete soundtrack.




Sony and From also released a new gameplay trailer at Tokyo Game Show, showing off teases of Bloodborne's online component, which promises cooperative and asynchronous play. One of those online aspects appears to be the introduction of "messengers," otherworldly but friendly creatures who bring messages to your hunter in Bloodborne.

FromSoft is really stepping up their game. This stuff looks beautiful and creepy. This game is going to be a must play of 2015.

Collector's Edition announced. Game's western release is Feb 6th.

Strains of different viruses. Perma-death viruses. Permanent Covenants. Players losing their characters which might end up as mini bosses for others to hunt. Huge beasts.

I repeat, holy shit.

The bosses look a lot better than Dark Souls 2's. I'm not sure why they felt the need for the new name though, it's so obviously a Souls game, hell the run animation is even the same by the looks of it.

The bosses look a lot better than Dark Souls 2's. I'm not sure why they felt the need for the new name though, it's so obviously a Souls game, hell the run animation is even the same by the looks of it.
Dark and Demon's Souls were about Souls and entirely revolved around it. As such, Bloodborne is about blood and pretty much revolves around that. Kind of stupid to have Souls in the title when you think about it in that context, right?

CT ajtk aik Dark Souls nai kheli, iss game pe bht dil aya hua hai. This franchise (yes it is the same) has some of the most twisted BOSSES in all gaming.
Yeah, I never got the opportunity to properly play any of the Souls games, but will be there day 1 for Bloodborne. The quicker pace and the fact that you carry a gun in place of a shield (or a 2nd weapon) makes things more interesting for me.

And no, it's not the same franchise. Bloodborne is different enough to be considered a separate entity. It's not a Souls game albeit similar in many ways.

There is nothing substantially different that I have seen. Probably a hotkey for HEALTH items and a some new mechanic which encourages you to remain aggressive with buffs.

These changes are commonplace throughout SOULS series. Like in Dark Souls 2 you lose your health by 10% after each death and enemies didn't respawn after certain time, which is completly unique mechanic to that sequel only.

Shield itself is not necessary in any part. You can dual wield.

The above is not a change in gameplay. It's an added stipulation to the existing gameplay.

Bloodborne is definitely more fast paced in comparison to any of the Souls games, which is quite evident from all the alpha streams I've seen. And I think that's a pretty significant change in itself. Dash moves are more crucial than they've ever been.

Shield itself is not necessary in any part. You can dual wield.
Carrying a gun is a lot different from both dual-wielding katanas or using a shield.

It looks scarier in motion. It's limbs move around and the eyes actually follow your character.

I've also found it sort of hard to differentiate any major part of this game from previous souls game. They all look quite similar. But I've found out from Dark Souls II it's not really the looks that make a FromSoft game. It's the actual game. People can defend Dark Souls II all they want, but it very clearly falls short when compared to Dark and Demon's Souls. Even though all three look very similar in the exterior, one is fundamentally a worse FromSoft game. The main reason that makes FromSoft game, or better yet, a Miyazaki game, are the intricacies inside the game. They are what split it apart from the rest. The deep mechanics rooted to the bone of the game. So even though the games may not seem very different, they might be leagues apart in quality.

Though that's not to take away the things that Bloodborne differently. Like the regen system, the guns, or the transformable weapons (specifically these are gonna shape the game more than I think people realize). Also, if the rumored multiplayer mechanics turn out to be true then those will also shape the game greatly. There's also the multiplayer side that Miyazaki is still keeping a secret from the public. He said vaguely in an interview that he wanted to try something new in that area, and that's basically all the info we have.

There is no denying that demon and dark souls 1 were better, maybe because of how world was designed or maybe by the time dark souls 2 arrived the gameplay became too generic and predictable. The X factor got lost.

What I was telling CT that if he is looking for drastic gameplay changes that turns bloodbourne into completely different game is still not noticeable from gameplay trailers.
