So after being told by SCB that they want a 100k cheque in order to grant me a "standard current account" and then numerous other prerequisites, I have decided to go for MCB as my primary bank; I went straight to the manager and asked him if I'll have to call their helpline and activate session for online purchasing again and again, and to my luck, he said it's just a single time activation. I'm already using MCB Lite, and I'm pleased with how good and fast it works on Steam, and Google Play Store. My main account should be active in a week or so.

People i need your help.I went to a mcb litized branch today to register for mcb lite.The guy at the counter told me that if i apply for mcb lite through them, then it will take a lot of time to process it.Instead he suggested me to type lite in sms and send it to 6222. So i did exactly what he said to me and i send an sms to 6222.After a few minutes i received a reply from mcb lites via sms stating that thankyou for showing interest in mcb lite.a representative will contact you shortly.Now i wanted to know that for those of you who have applied for mcb lite through sms.Did mcb representative contact you for details.And if so then after how much time did they call you.i applied for it today, so after how long can i expect to recieve a call from them ? Please let me know. Thanks

Depend on your account type and balance.
If you have maintained your account then there are no charges.

Depends on the banks. For standard chartered, they have a pretty slick system. They send you multiple passcodes in different platforms before making a transaction so I think it's pretty fool proof

My father also has no idea about it and has presently no accounts in any bank. The cheque is of Standard Chartered Bank and my father's name is written on the check after the word 'Pay'. nope , its security fees returning cheque , and most of the institutes do it and do it to cash out the cheque , n normally if you got bank account or not they write cheques just of simple cash out ,
just go to bank and show them this , they will ask 1-2 stupid question that you will respond happily to , like ye apka cheque he?
jiske naam ka cheque he usko NIC ki copy deni paray gi , sign it and they will give you the money ,
you dont have to pay any kind of slip or anything

2nd cheque transferred ? no cheque is not transferred it can only be cashed out , bcz its written "pay cash" so simple bank will read it and give you your money and thats that , dont worry kuch ni hota , if it will be something else or anyproblem they will give you all the details but it will be cashed out at the spot

Just to clarify if the name is written infront of Pay then it can only be transfered to his account. You will deposit cheque along deposit slip. Since your father don't have any account in bank you can get cheque crossed (open) from concerned University/College department and cash out from bank.

Once you get your card and account you have to deposit a 1000rs cash atleast in your account to get it going.
