It's a shame that we live in a society where Police murders 14 people and injures 80, the Election Commission is powerless in the face of unprecedented levels of rigging and the higher Judiciary takes no notice of the violation of peoples basic rights. But nobody bats an eyelid and no action is taken against the perpetrators. In fact we, as a society, have regressed to the level where people actually go to the level of defending such open acts of cruelty and oppression.
Government supporters in this thread are an example of the sort of people I'm hinting at. They are either blind fanboys or are simply ignorant (which is even worse).
More people should read @
Salvation's
post. /thread material.
Imran Khan is an idealist. His style of politics is influenced by the sort that is practiced in the civilized West. Instigating violence and, resultantly, getting their demands accepted would've been the way to go for any other political leader. The "don't care" attitude of the general population is one reason why he was unable to mobilize enough people.
I agree with @
LordIT's assessment. IK's stance makes more sense now. I wouldn't have given the protesters more than a few days but the crowd is swelling as the protest enters its seventh day.
We have taken enough nonsense and crap from the higher ups. IK's rigid stance is commendable and should be supported by and large. Saving face is easy but remaining steadfast on one's principles separates a true leader from the fake.
