Get the popcorns ready everyone. The upcoming 14th of August will be see processions of mainly two political parties marching into Islamabad and staging a sit-in till their demands are met.

Background:

1. PTI had rejected the 2013 General Elections on grounds of wide-spread rigging. They have been demanding recount of votes in a number of constituencies for the past few months. With the threat of launching a Tsunami March in case govt. doesn't accede to their demands.

Reports have emerged in the media that ECP is directly involved in manipulating votes in constituencies where vote recounting is under way. Election tribunals delaying decisions on contested results has only added fuel to the situation.

2. Tahir ul Qadri is back from Canada with more demands after he was pacified into submission by the shrewd Zardari. In June this year, his supporters was fired upon outside Minhaj-ul-Quran HQ in Lahore after they resisted the police in removing barricades. Many were killed and scores injured.

PAT claims Punjab Police has killed 38 of its workers since June. What could have been a peaceful demonstration has now turned ugly with frequent clashes in recent days between PAT workers and Police.

PAT demands:
- Government resign
- Completely revamp the system of governance

PTI demands:
- Government resign
- Reformed Election Commission
- Mid-term elections.

Army has been called-in at Lahore and Islamabad. Section 144 has been implemented in the Federal Capital which disallows a gathering of more than five people. Cargo containers are being parked at various routes in Lahore and Islamabad. Motorcycles forcibly taken and fuel supplies reduced in Punjab and KPK to jam transport.

Here's for hoping August 14 doesn't turn out to be Will Smith's Independence Day.

Lives of people living in Lahore is becoming worse. Its like a poison, slowly infecting the lives of general public. I think its right to blame our own Govt instead of these Inqilaabi people, who by the way, weren't even out for Inqilaab today. They were out for "Shuhada Day". But Police had to finger them, so they'd go in Self Defense mode.

Anyway, i'd rather keep this thread towards the gifts of this specific current situation, and would avoid going towards the 'bigger' picture, for now. I really think that Govt is digging up their own grave by doing such stunts. I have seen numerous PML-N supporters also lashing out towards the party leaders for their barbaric and stupid acts.

The Federal and Punjab government is over-reacting. So much for their political experience and oversight. Makes me wonder the government has stuffed its coffers with brain-dead advisers.

These protests were all set to fizzle out on their own. Government is shooting itself in the foot with all these arrangements. Desperation is high.

i feel really bad for the ppl killed in this incident. Although punjab government is at fault for the killings and sealing of lahore along with other major cities. Lol! they even took back the cheques which were given to police constables who got injured. Still police follow their orders and is trying their level best to humiliate not only pat+pti workers but also normal citizens. As 11 PAT workers got killed yesturday according to latest news on tv channels and still not a single fir has been registered against punjab police. The 17th june model town incident was more than enough for the punjab govt to resign. But like they always say ( kuch bhi ho, kursi na jai) . On the other hand corruption at its peak has broken all the records of the past governments. i really dont understand how come one possesing billions of rs property, yet one tries to achieve more and more. No matter what comes in the way, i am not supporting any party, although i am a big fan of dr tahir ul qadri and imran khan. But the truth can been seen with one's eye. People have been dying of hunger and yet they go for metro buses, motors ways. A country where police themself target and kill civilians and no action is yet taken, but FIR's are submitted against those who lost their family members is enough to know how well is countries govt and how well is countries police+law.

This is pleasurable. I'm eagerly waiting for the 14th August. I ain't supporting anyone but i really really want nawaz to step down. Nawaz is trapped badly and (lets face the reality) its time for him to say goodbye to his governance. Apart from that, i really liked the attitude zardari has shown in the past one and a half year. It looks like he already knew whats gonna happen that why the last election were peaceful and he gave away the charge very calmly. Its like a triple thread match, PMLN and PTI are wrestling in the ring while PPP is resting down the ring and when they both ll be knocked out, PPP will come and pin either of the two.

Pst. Nawaz including his ministers especially that saad rafique is showing very immature and irresponsible attitude. Its not the first time that these events are happening in pakistan, it also happened during zardari's rule and he handled it calmly. They should learn from them and they are ready for giving them full support. They just have to ask for it. Blocking the roads and using other forces is just not the way to handle the mob.

I don't ask anyone to be a party's fan since democracy is a lie & illusion in itself. BUT, why do people act so blind that they don't ever want to see the truth. I mean, under this Govt., Roti nearly 8 rupees ki ho gayi (if i am not wrong, Rahim yar Khan main its Rs.12 or 13). But still people choose to vote for these tax chor nooras. 1 dafa jis saanp se duswa liya, phir ussi k paas jatay hain :S Ajeeb awaam hay yaar.

I really felt like smashing my head against the wall when a PML-N supporter today showed "pleasure" over recent incidents. He was like "bohat acha kar rahi hay hakoomatl. Sabq sikhaye inn logo ko". And that SOB is not even rich, and has a small Retail Business. If a person of that level is thinking along such lines, then i for one think this awam DESERVE to be treated like dogs. Heck there are some who actually try to justify the killings in Model Town (referring to the past incident).

lol .. this is not the case.. all the struggle is not for just re-elections... by imran khan its for re-elections considering a whole new system of free and fair elections. This time they wont be able to do such thing called as (dhandli) or rigging. secondly what if pmln collects 1 lac ppl and then does the same as pti and pat are doing, so this is not gonna happen as for gathering ppl you need people and i doubt how many are left following pmln. This struggle is not a piece of cake it takes great effort. So in simple words new elections = no dhandli = no ppp/mqm/pmln. How am i so sure? that is because at the time of elections 2013. PTI candidate just got 300votes less than ppp and why is that because of rigging. So even after hell lot of rigging the ppp candidate could only win from 300 votes. provided all citizens here were 100% sindhi but they didnt vote sindhi or urdu or punjabi but voted for change

IK's claim is legit in the fact that this is Monarchy under the guise of Democracy and even Dictators didnt govern the country like these bald brothers are running

Heres hoping some positive change comes to light 14th August 2014 and onwards
PTI and IK are the only political force in this country that are doing proper opposition and should be commended and supported in any and everyway possible

The 2 Major Parties from down south of Pakistan are silent because they have everything to loose with Mid Term Elections and Electoral Reforms

As for TUQ im not a fan of this guy neither do i buy most of the stuff he sells to the people but atleast through PAT the nation can see the tyranny that PMLN is capable of carrying out

This was happened in the past when ganja was elected ruled for 1 or 2 years than PPP finished their rule the same way IK is doing now by Marching after pmln gone PPP came in power than ganja put their rule to end the same way PPP done with them.

Rigging was done but not like on Karachi level where MQM is free to do anything bhai style anywhere.

PMLN and PPP are 2 heavy weight parties that is a realty and they formed a pact to let each other rule for 5 years.pmln let PPP rule for 5 years in what i can say dark years of pakistan nation.

Now pmln won election got in power STABILIZEZ this country to some extent IMO although badshahat is in play from ganjas.

IK should have started this long march after 3 or 4 years timing is WRONG now they could have got the goverment fair and square without any1 putting their rule to end but PMLN clearly said that

HAMARY BAAD KOI BHE 5 SAAL HAKOMAT NAHE KAR SAKTA and i think they are telling the truth they will put an end to IK rule immediately even if mid term election got placed right now.SO IK should march and make it short make a deal or something and wait 3 years.

NOW QADRI it is clear by now that some1 from outside is pulling his strings this man has no agenda aside from spreading anarchy,killings and what not.i was seeing how he is preparing his peoples to resist against a state owned police ITS A JOKE NO ONE CAN FIGHT WITH A STATE HEAD ON he is like those talibans which army cleared from wazirstan same ideals same stupid thinking.
