[h=1]Stephen Amell on ‘Arrow’ Crossing Over with Non-CW Shows[/h]

While Marvel has relied upon the television side of its interconnected cinematic universe to introduce and expand areas that the blockbuster event films have yet to – such as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. introducing the Inhumans mythology and Daredevil carving out a pocket for the street-level heroes – DC and Warner Bros. have taken a decidedly different approach to their TV properties.
The DCMU continuity established by Man of Steel continues with 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, leading to an eventual Justice League big screen team-up with characters like The Flash, who will be played by Ezra Miller in the film even as Grant Gustin has been portraying the speedster on The CW’s hit TV series. This has led to some confusion, compounded by the news that Superman’s cousin Supergirl will get her own show, and Batman’s sidekick Robin will appear on the upcoming Titans.

From The Web

While we’ve explored how keeping DC’s movie and TV universes separate is overall a good thing, the odds of seeing multiple crossovers within these disparate series – all on different networks – remain up in the air. The Flash is a spinoff of The CW’s hit Arrow, with a third official inter-connected series called Legends of Tomorrow also in the works. Batman prequel show Gotham airs on Fox and the recently-canceled Constantine aired on NBC, making an intersection between those two shows and The CW’s small-screen universe seem unlikely.
One proponent for such a crossover was Arrow star Stephen Amell, who wanted to “save” Constantine by appearing on one of its episodes. According to a report from ComicBook.com, crossovers are still very much on Amell’s mind. While appearing at the Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con, Amell was asked to address (again) the notion of he or Grant Gustin appearing in a cinematic version of the Justice League.
According to Amell:
“As of right now, the movie universe and the television universe are very, very separate. I mean we’ve seen Ezra Miller, who’s going to play The Flash in one of the upcoming films, and even on the Suicide Squad, we have a whole slew of characters that are now representing the Suicide Squad. And the Suicide Squad is at least for the foreseeable future is not going to be featured on Arrow. So we’re keeping those universes separate.”

Indeed, with David Ayer’s highly-anticipated Suicide Squad to feature characters like Deadshot and Captain Boomerang, who have already been portrayed by different actors on Arrow and The Flash, DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns’ assertion that the movie and TV realms will be kept separate seems to be definite.
Amell went on to discuss his idea of how DC’s TV universe could inter-mingle, saying “On the B side, there is an opportunity for interconnectivity with any DC television show that exists.” Amell lamented the loss of Constantine, but reiterated his attempt to appear on the series and ran down the list of DC’s upcoming television options, saying:
“Now, ‘Constantine’ was an NBC show. I’m on The CW. I had had discussions with DC… so not NBC, not CW… but with DC Entertainment about guest starring on Constantine when it was still on the air. And that was and is still on the table. So we have ‘Flash,’ we have ‘Legends of Tomorrow,’ a new show which is directly connected to the ‘Arrow’ universe, we have ‘Supergirl’… she got picked up, directed by my good friend Glen Winter, that pilot, I can’t wait to see it, I’m sure it’s going to be amazing… there’s ‘Gotham’ obviously, and I’m missing something… ‘Titans,’ there you go. So again I wouldn’t worry too much about the movie universe, because we have no shortage of options for me and other characters to populate.”

The assertion that Amell’s theoretical guest appearance on Constantine “was and is still on the table” could be a broad hint that the show could return on SyFy as Hellblazer, but also is potentially just wishful thinking and/or speculation. Amell did share his idea on how Oliver Queen/Arrow would fit into John Constantine’s universe, saying:
“The reason that I was going to guest star on ‘Constantine,’ at least the idea that we were throwing around was he’s an expert when it comes to the Lazarus Pit, which is now something that is a part of and will continue to be a part of ‘Arrow.’ ”
The supernatural nature of Ra’s Al Ghul’s (Matt Nable) Lazarus Pit might have been the ideal way to link Constantine with Arrow, but until we know the final fate of Constantine, there is no way to know if such a notion is in the cards. In truth, Amell likely has limited say in the extent of how the DC television shows could cross over, but he expressed further support of Constantine, noting how DC’s Geoff Johns and Jim Lee were supporting the show and that Grant Gustin was “throwing a little weight behind it” before stating “I just think that it deserves an opportunity. I really do.”
The general consensus seems to be that Constantine suffered from a format which failed to truly capture the ‘Hellblazer’ comic book source material, while the successful DC TV shows – Gotham, Arrow, The Flash – seemed to prove that even an update and deviation from the comics could work as long as the spirit of the material was kept alive. Amell’s belief in Constantine‘s spirit is not wholly unfounded, but at the moment, the likelihood for cross-network DC spinoffs is officially unknown.
Arrow continues Wednesday with its season 3 finale “My Name Is Oliver Queen” @8PM on The CW. The Flash continues Tuesday with “Rogue Air” @8PM on The CW. Gotham returns for season 2 in the Fall. Supergirl will premiere on CBS in the Fall. We’ll keep you updated on the status of Constantine.

[h=1]Stephen Amell Says He’s Done Wearing the ‘Arrow’ Suit[/h]

WARNING: This post contains SPOILERS for Arrow.]
–
While The Flash‘s season finale won’t air until next week, Arrow has already finished its third season with this week’s “My Name is Oliver Queen.” The episode wrapped up season 3’s struggle with Ra’s al Ghul and the League of Assassins with a neat and tidy bow, practically coming across as a series finale with how final every development felt. This was especially true of Oliver’s decision to retire the Arrow persona and leave the vigilante business altogether, last seen driving off into the sunset with Felicity while proclaiming how happy he was.

However, we know Arrow is returning next year with its star Stephen Amell, so it shouldn’t be too terribly long before we see Oliver return to his bow and arrows. During the course of season 3, Oliver’s identity as the Arrow was outed, and though Roy eventually took the fall for him, it’s now impossible for Oliver Queen to resume his crime-fighting activities under that guise; especially since Ra’s again framed the Arrow as a killer, tarnishing his reputation. Simply returning next season and donning the Arrow costume would effectively undo all that happened this season, something Amell himself affirmed when recently asked about season 4. From The Web

Having a show called Arrow without anyone as the Arrow doesn’t seem all that likely, at least not for long. And while Oliver’s sister, Thea, has recently stepped into the role of Speedy, there’s little doubt that Oliver will return and again take up arms. But if the Arrow persona is truly dead and gone, what new identity will Oliver assume upon his return?

In his earlier interview during the CW’s Upfront presentation, Amell said he doesn’t know what’s in store for Oliver next season when it comes to the future. But in speaking with E!, he goes on to confirm at least one thing he knows for sure about the upcoming season of Arrow:
Arrow is done. No more Arrow suit. I’ve worn it for the last time.
Again, the news that the Arrow persona is done for now isn’t all that shocking, but saying he’ll never again don his green leather hood is truly outrageous. After all, it was the outfit that most strongly connected the Arrow to his comic book inspiration Green Arrow. Without it, Oliver isn’t all that indistinguishable from his recent turn as Al Sah-him.
Retiring not only the Arrow persona but the Arrow suit could imply a number of things, one being that Oliver is truly well and done being a masked hero. That’s the least likely scenario, but it is one we could see Arrow toy with for more than just an episode or two (unlike Oliver’s “death” which lasted all of an episode).

What’s more likely is that season 4 of Arrow could be the season where Oliver truly becomes Green Arrow (as The Flash even hinted at with Gideon’s newspaper from the future). The distinction may not seem all that drastic, but the Green Arrow of the comics is different from the man Amell has played for three seasons. Most noticeably, Green Arrow isn’t nearly as dour or brooding as Amell’s Oliver Queen. Since Oliver has finally found happiness in his relationship with Felicity, we may see a happier Oliver in season 4.
Pair a less surly Oliver with a new costume, most likely another green affair, and you’ve got someone closer to the character fans of the Green Arrow comics have been expecting since day one.
What do you guys think? Do Stephen Amell’s comments that he’s worn the Arrow suit for the last time imply he’s hanging up his quiver for good? Or will we see him return next season as a brighter, more fun Green Arrow? Sound off in the comments below!
–
Arrow season 4 will premiere this fall along with The Flashseason 2 and season 1 of CBS’ Supergirl. The Flash/Arrow spinoff show Legends of Tomorrow will premiere as a midseason replacement in early 2016.

ARROW Producers Had "Big Plans" For 'Harley Quinn' Before SUICIDE SQUAD Ruined Them

While Arrow often comes under fire for borrowing too many elements and characters from Batman's corner of the DC Universe, Harley Quinn's surprise (and extremely brief) cameo in the show's stellar second season was still one of the most exciting and intriguing moments in its run.

Unfortunately, that would amount to nothing, as Margot Robbie being cast as the character in David Ayer's Suicide Squad movie left both Harley and Task Force X off limits to The CW series.

Talking at the MCM London (via Spoiler TV) comic book convention today, WIlla Holland (Thea Queen/Speedy) had this to say about the original plans for Harley Quinn in Arrow. "We had big plans for Harley. But, I guess something came down from DC execs that told us to shut it down," the actress revealed to disappointed fans. "I mean we had that tease with the pigtails and the ARGUS outfit but, we’ll never see it. We would love to Harley in Arrow but it will never happen."

Well, Thanks to DC, and suicide squad film, no Harley Quinn. Same Reason no more Deadshot in Arrow.
Thanks to this film, it's ruining Arrow. Would have been epic to seen her.
I hope DC changes their mind, after the film releases in 2016, and Let Arrow use the characters again.

Ok i finished season 3 yesterday, and i was curious how this season 3 would be, due to criticism by people. This Season wasn't good as Season 2, but it was still good! I guess i would season 3, and season 1 at the same rank.

Ra's was perfectly portrayed, there was enough drama and attention. But the execution wasn't that good, like season 2. This season had potential to be better than season 2, but i don't know what went wrong.

As for Felicity....wow i really liked her as a character in the first 2 seasons, but she was fucking annoying in season 3, now i hate her. If she doesn't return likeable in season 4, i hope she dies. This Olicity shit was annoying. Even Laurel is less annoying now, which i never thought she would be.

This season suffered pacing issues, poor direction, a bit weak story compared to Season 2, and felicity ruining this season. Otherwise it was good.

I hope Season 4 is epic as season 2.
Spoiler: show
White Canary Aka Sara Lance will probably be back :D. And since Oliver is done with Arrow, he will turn to Green Arrow. But i don't like Green Arrow's costume, his beard, and sleeveless arms is corny. I liked his current costume, and i hope the new one is similar to it. I don't get why people are hyped about Green arrow....

I hope Talia al ghul has a role in season 4, her and nysaa will try to kill malcolm or something...
Roy harper should return also...

And those son of a Abuses will lead to banes at DC/WB should allow arrow producers to use Deadshot, suicide squad, and Harley Quinn in season 4.

Two audition tapes reading for a character named 'Simon'. Most likely a code name for Damien Darkh.

Here's some dialogue for season 4:
Oliver Queen: So, you’re on to him? The one Ra’s?

Villain: I’m sure Ra’s has told you many things about me. He was quite the storyteller – always concerned about myths and legends. As if he wanted them himself.
Oliver Queen: Why am I here?
Villain: For the same reason a boy is curious about an ant he dug out of the ground.
Oliver Queen: And you’re the ant in the scenario?
Villain: No, I’m the ground, the Earth, the world. I’m the man even Ra’s al Ghul fears.
Oliver Queen: So Ra’s is scared of you? I’m not.
Villain: Only because you haven’t gotten to know me yet.
Oliver Queen: I’m getting to know you now and I’m not impressed.
Villain: I’m not Slade Wilson or Malcolm Merlyn or any of the other pretenders you’ve dealt with before.
Oliver Queen: I defeated them both.
Villain: Sounds like you’re ready for the main event then. It’s graduate day, Mr. Queen.
************************************
Unknown: Please, don’t kill me.
Villain: Well, I hadn’t made up my mind up about that to be honest, but I can tell you that the incessant whining isn’t helping your cause much.
Unknown: I haven’t done anything to you.
Villain: That’s a matter of opinion. You failed me.
Unknown: I’m sorry.
Villain: Not yet you’re not, but you will be. In that interval try to have some dignity at least.
Unknown: I’ll do anything you want.
Villain: So, that’s a pass on dignity. I was in your position more than once, vulnerable and someone else’s mercy or lack thereof. It is a terrible feeling. It might be the worst emotion, worst than sadness or grief or loneliness. That’s why I made it point not to feel it again. Family, friends, love, children, I cut ties with all of that. Now there’s nothing I can be threatened with. I look at you and see your fear and there’s nothing that I recognize. I have no fear, because of that. I show no mercy.

Sounds exciting. :D I hope Damien Darkh is bad ass like Slade Wilson, and hopefully breaks him out of the ARGUS prison, and joins him. This would take season 4 another level. Please let Deadshot be in this season!

[h=1]‘Arrow’ Season 4: Malcolm Merlyn to Return[/h]

The end of season 3 of The CW’s hit series Arrow saw Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) hanging up his Arrow suit and leaving Starling City alongside Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), with Thea (Willa Holland) taking up the mantle of the vigilante Speedy and John Diggle (David Ramsey) to potentially get a mask as well.
While Amell may not be the same brooding vigilante we know when Arrow returns for a fourth season, he’s expected to show up in a manner which will reflect the next season’s lighter tone. Meanwhile, Arrow‘s first arch-villain Malcolm Merlyn – who was given the title of Ra’s al Ghul by Oliver at the end of season 3 – will be returning for season 4, as confirmed by actor John Barrowman.

Barrowman spoke to the audience at Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con about what’s in store and when production resumes, saying (hat tip to ComicBook.com):
“We start filming in July, season four — I just finalized my deal about a week ago. I’m very excited about going back, I can’t tell you anything because I do know a bit about what’s going to happen. But if you love Malcolm Merlyn, if you love Oliver Queen, if you love Thea Queen, if you love the Canary sisters, and I say that with a bit of a twist and a joke in it, you’re going to love what’s going to happen across the DC world.”
Barrowman’s remarks point toward the season 3 development which could be the most likely reason for Oliver Queen to return: Thea’s resurrection in the Lazarus Pit. Malcolm warned Oliver that there would be unforeseen circumstances, but by the season finale Thea still seemed to be relatively unaffected. Fans of the comic books know that every time a subject descends into the Lazarus Pit, they emerge changed, often suffering from temporary insanity. Thea’s side effects are roundly expected to show up early on next season.

The most recent hints from Amell about the next batch of antagonists tease the appearance of former Ra’s al Ghul protege Damien Darhk and his mercenary organization H.I.V.E. Darhk was mentioned but never seen during season 3, but with a new Ra’s al Ghul running the League of Assassins,it makes sense for the mercenary leader to sense an opportunity to move in and seize control. If Thea/Speedy descends into madness at roughly the same time (which would definitely be inconvenient for our heroes), Malcolm could enlist Oliver’s help.
Beyond that, Barrowman’s mention of events “across the DC world” could suggest a ramping up of the crossovers within the Arrow/Flash universe, which are due to expand further with Legends of Tomorrow and the recently announced Hawkgirl spinoff. Could the new Ra’s al Ghul show up in these other shows as an antagonist? Stay tuned for more details on the interconnected DC television universe as they emerge.
Arrow returns to the CW in the fall of 2015.

Hell yes! He's a really likable character. They can further League of Assassins story by introducing Talia Al Ghul. Fighting Nyssa for succession or something. There's no Batman in this universe, so they can freely use her character as they want.

Stephen Amell( Portrays Oliver Queen) said in his Q & A, when he read the script for Season 4 premiere episode, his Jaw dropped twice in surprise. I'm expecting good things from this Season! October is a long way. :/

Marc Guggenheim Says NO Plans for Connor Hawke, Nyssa in Season 4, and Felicity Will Be CEO.

Despite seeing a few easter eggs that have alluded to Connor Hawke (Oliver's son as teased in Season 2 and in the Flash crossover episode) it seems that there are currently NO plans to bring Connor - who would be 8-10 years old - onto the show.

Arrow fans disappointed in Season 3 and hoping for her to die in the premiere episode will saddened to hear that her time as CEO will be explored. I assume by season's end she will have either kept the company and helped Oliver start another, died, or given the company to Oliver...leading to the eventual birth of Queen Industries, a name much more familiar to comic fans than Queen Consolidated.

We recently received confirmation that John Barrowman's Malcolm Merlyn would return in Season 4, and now it seems Katrina Law is confirmed to follow suit. One would hope - or assume - that Nyssa will eventually take her rightful place as Demon's Head some time in Arrow's future.

I'm satisfied with this approach the producers are taking. Connor would be uninteresting, and only 8 years old, i want the main focus to be on oliver. Since Felicity will be the CEO, i hope she goes back to how she was like in season 1 & 2. And yes more Nyssa and Merlyn! Just hoping they introduce Richard Dragon, Lady Shiva, and Talia a Ghul in season 4. And Slade Wilson better return in this season!

Season 4 Premiere date is October 7th. Hyped as fuck.
