I don't know, but people I've seen, didn't give it a second thought when have seen an opportunity. And nobody is solely blaming girls here, it's just that taali aik haath se ni bajti.

I am just saying here that I'd prefer the Western culture anyday.

Here, if a girl is married, she has to compromise in every way, even if the guy turns out to be a psychopath. If she separates, our culture will morally kill her, saying that she is a hoe. While in west, if a girl doesn't like the guy, she could openly admit it and move on.

Here, before everything, we have a concept of Jahaiz. The more jahaiz she brings, the more respect she gets.

Here, in rural areas, men pressurize the women to deliver a BOY. It still happens, so you can't deny that.

And s*x before marriage is getting way common here too. So either you can accept it, or blind-fold yourself.

So why just not get rid of this all drama at once instead of fooling yourself by considering that this culture is as best as it can get?

Well, i cant expect anything good for someone that prefers westerners over majority of stuff.
That jehaiz thing is just stupid and etc but its our culture. we cant do anything out it.
Same goes in the west and you cant bring west here either.

One has to be extremely naïve to believe that women don't get abused in the West by their husbands or partners. The increasing divorce rate and materialistic desire is a measure of general discontent of the society.

The only moral thing I envy regarding the West is their honesty and integrity in everyday matters of life.

I love the Western culture, wahan inheritance ka scene ni hai. When you have a kids, they're supposed to be independent after 18. So you don't have to worry about their lives, marriages etc. They eat what they earn. No concept of building property so they could pass it on to their children.

That will never work here, for one thing so much freedom is not a good thing. And secondly it is impossible because we don't have free education or any concept of student loans. If you have free education the situation is great. However in our case it is not.

Though even in America by the time you finish graduation you already in so much debt you are screwed. The Us spends so much on fighting "terrorism" and "keeping peace" it doesnt even give its citizen free education. This has always baffled me. :S

You are absolutely correct, however the west has no more respect for women than our society does. Both are flawed.

If women are pressurized and oppressed in the east they are given such a loose leash in the west where not dressing decently or pre marital sex are used as signs of being "free".

And to those saying this is our culture and there is nothing we can do about it, that's where you're WRONG, if men can be sick enough to exercise their power over women they can be just as easily use that same power to bring change in our society, start with your families atleast, even that would be enough.

i hear so many people saying that s*x before marriage is getting so common in our society. i have such a wide professional circle and have been at places. i agree the general respect for women is not as it should be, but pre-marital intercourse....oh please, dont even start saying that it's widespread here.

secondly if someone thinks that the western culture is better because there is less responsibility on the parents regarding their children's latter life, kids are free to have s*x, women have a 'free' life then that is just sad.
the only good and important thing about the west is their honesty, integrity, everyday interactions. their social conduct in general. they are polite and mannered when they deal with you. you will see that happening here very rarely.

These are genuine problems but not even slightly relevant when comparing Pakistan vs. Others. If you want to see the difference between us and them, just buy a ticket and go to Dubai. Stay in Dubai for a day and then fly back to Pakistan. As soon as you reach passport control at a Pakistani Airport, you'll realize that we may not have sex out of wedlock but we're a bunch of raging assholes. Nothing to be proud of.

I totally agree with you, living abroad has given me a whole new perspective on whats wrong with pakistan. The people at Karachi airport, our own people are WORSE than the people at Riyad airport even though everyone complains about how saudis hate pakis. I literally hate going through Jinnah International.

And on complaining, Pakistanis complain ALOT. I know people who's lofe changed around coming to Saudi and still they act like they are stuck in some prison, always ungrateful for what they have, complainng about what they dont but NEVER working towards it
