4870 at cheap prices

You see, the 9800GT Sir Ahsan got was most likely (I am 99.5% certain) a defective card. The 9800GT's shader cores cannot be changed, if it is a 9800GT, then it has 112SP - simple as that. Now the only difference I see are with the 9600GT, which XFX even mentions on its site.

The HD4870 has only two versions, the same video card with 512MB and the same with 1GB memory. You will not experience anything like less shader cores with buying the HD4870 - unless it is has a manufacture defective (which is a 0.3% chance? less?).

I think if galaxy is selling a crippled version then czone will also be selling the same thing coz the price is same

I can confirm it, as i opened the box of the newly restocked one at a galaxy's distributor.
The card was way too light for a 4870 felt more like holding a 8600gt lol and the build quality was pathetic.

it has the cooler similar to 5750

Well bro the HIS 4870 ICQ4+ TURBO is no more available the only option is XFX, sadly.
Well i can't say exactly but there is a definite difference in core and memory clocks.
The XXX version which was previously available had higher clocks then the reference 4870 card.
About 785mhz on the core i guess don't remember the memory ones.

**Oh and yes there is a huge difference in the HIS and XFX version but that is clearly justified by the difference in the design, cooler and clocks. The His version has a hell of an overclocking potential can easily be at par with the 4890 **
