120mm led fan mod...a work in progress ( maybe :P )

Firstly this is a small mod i know..nothing out of the ordinary... ( not my usual :p)..but just wanted to share :)

so guys as u all know the cooler master led fans suck...and not due to their lack of airflow ( :mad: ) but due to the fact that almost everyone here whos using them has experienced the Led's dying out in these fans after a few months....

same thing happened to me with TWO of my CM 120mm led fans ( Blue ones )...

so i just had to do something...so i pryed out the the protection bars at the corners and took the led's out...grabbed some replacement led's ( really hard to fund of this size :S ) ... i went with WHITE LED's this time...i thought they would look much more nifty...( as lets face it...BLUE is everywhere ! :D )


SO i grabbed my ancient Solering iron ( seriously.its my dad's when he was my age.. :D ) ....some solder and got to work... some while later i was done and VOILA ..totally worth it as u'll see in the pics below...

and also might follow this up with a proceeding mod and do the XIGMATEK XLF-1513 look :p u know the ones u call orange fans :D ..but its just a maybe ( only for the kicks :D) since im not a big fan of them ( like my current theme thats why )..so we'll see ...

For those who dont know how it originally looks like....a reference pic of an original CM 120mm blue LED fan....





Here is the fan prepared for taking out the led...

And with the other fan...it was impossible to take out one of the led's...it was stuck..REAL BAD...luckily it was a perfectly fine working blue one ... so i decided of doing a combo fan... BLUE AND WHITE....did the other 3 led's to make this combo...its just okayy looking i guess ( u tell )...






So guys lemme know what u think...comments suggestion...criticism welcome ( lookin forward to it as this aint one of usual kinda moda :p ) ..but i just wanted to share...

White isnt looking as much pretty as Blue one but still its a Success ;)

not bad at all..
but to be honest the look doesnt come on the white ledz as the fan is already transparent.
i have chnaged all my CM fans to red.....coz od the theme....and they are looking awsome!!!

thanks man..and IMO white looks better...has the THUNDER look to it...and im lovin it... blue kaafi RULL chuka hai..nai ? :p but it still is awesome... and about the LEEDDEESS .yaar i got mine from township college road...bargain on the price :p..and take a faulty led with you for reference as they never understand what 3mm or 5mm led means... typical !

thank u sir...and well like i already said white looks awesome and gives that THUNDERy look...and i love diamond white colour of these led's there was another purplish shade of white too..didnt look as good.... and yes in ur case red led's will kick ass as the case i did for u is pure red awesomeness ;)

    Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

    did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!
