Sorry for talking so much.
So apparently the only reason in your eyes to go to NUST is that it has got more number of PhDs (which certainly doesn't matter but lets just count it as NUST's only pro) meanwhile the main advantage of FAST is that its just a few kilometers away from home, secondly, its prominent for its CS degree and obviously much better than NUST and thirdly, you ll get a chance to be an internee if you choose fast which is an absolute WIN!

Never choose a university on the basis of qualification of the faculty, speaking from my experience, i have been with the teachers holding a PhD degree who doesn't even know a single thing about teaching, at the sametime, saw intructors with a Bachelor degree teaching so wonderful. Its always about the method of teaching not the degrees.

lastly, if i were you, i 'd choose FAST anyday. Just dont get into that hostel stuff, its never easy to live in a dorm. Feel lucky, FAST is just few steps away from you, go for it!

Thankyou Hassan bhai. That was very helpful. I was already leaning towrds going to FAST and you probably just sealed the deal for me here. Just for arguments sake thoough, no, thats not the only pro i associate with nust. But that its probably the only university in pakistan ranked among international universites (and that too in the IT department) I feel like that might give me an edge in getting into a good masters program abroad. Is that true or have i been completely misguided?

being a student of NUST or any other top ranked universities of Pakistan hardly improves your chance of getting into a university abroad. you just need $$$ and a kickass GPA (probably around 3.5) along with a decent IELTS score. Dude seriously, stop worrying about the rankings and shit, try to build up your skills and increase your professional knowledge and youre good to go.

Aoa. A concise background of who....... get a 3.something gpa (realistically speaking)

FAST would be a better option for CS as I believe their curriculum to be better. But NUST will offer you the most internships, hiring and freelance opportunities as far as CS is concerned and that's a fact. The number of internships being offered everyday for CS students at SEECS is astounding but you have to equal to the task to get them.

FAST is definitely better. Students who are about to graduate start getting job offers before they give their finals. My bro studied from FAST and is making a comfortable salary going from country to country and has graduated just 3 years ago with a ~2.5 cgpa.

As if determining exactly that whether some Bachelors student teaches well than a PhD at university level is fairly easy right?, mery khyl se isi wajh se UET Lahore ne kaafi "tarraqii" krli hai ab (sarcasm intended)...I completely agree that it can be the case that a teaching fellow (Masters/MBA wala bnda) may teach MUCH MUCH better than a so-called PhD wala and one shouldn't base his/her decision "solely" on qualifications (phds) HOWEVER still, in an uncertain process of choosing a university it is a good enough method to separate PATHETIC institutes from good institutes.

What is your criteria of judging a PATHETIC university? Evidently (as your post suggests), you're declaring a university with more PhDs a "good" institute. Actually thats not always ture, i've seen cases where XYZ institutes have more PhDs than GOOD institutes. Look around, you'll definitely find those XYZs.

Why no one here is talking about PU (University of the Punjab)? Oldest university, established in 1882, QS Asian Ranking 201.

I'll personally suggest that don't look for good faculty or good looking building or campus, just look for their relations with universities of other countries and their scholar ship program. Fast is not offering any scholar ship this year (heard from one the person from FAST staff). I would suggest you to go for that university which is highly ranked in HEC Ranking. And of course PU is at 3 in General Category.

Hi
I have an LLB from Punjab University Law College, with 2nd division and average marks.
Now, I am considering to take admission in LLM, but I am not sure if PULC is the right one.

Can anyone provide serious suggestions about law colleges/universities that offer LLM (from Lahore or Islamabad).

Is FAST really as good as people claim it is? Why should I pick it over IBA? (for CS) How's the standard of education, socialization and quality of life on campus? What kind of friends will I make?

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

  • L LegacyGamerGuy:
Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.
