Which University should I choose?

i was looking for info on nust hostels and though i got what i needed to know i also came across blog entries and news pieces saying that nust is run by extremely conservative and close minded people? basically that they have curfew at 7.30pm and boys and girls cant sit next to or walk with each other. one person went to the extent of saying nust is being run by taliban. can anyone tell me if this is true? is it a very choking atmosphere there?

I am trying to find some universities known for computer science in Karachi and I came around and was recommended to consider FAST.
I have a percentage of 77 in 1st year Karachi board.
So my questions are:

- There are two campuses of Fast in Karachi. One is called "City Campus" and other is called "Main Campus". As city campus is closer to me in distance whereas main campus is far away. How much they differ from each other ? Is Main Campus better than City Campus?

- Does percentage of 1st/2nd year matter? If yes, then is 77 % suitable for achieving a rank in merit list or will it be helpful in getting into Fast?

77% is more than enuf for FAST. As for main and city campus maybe [MENTION=43322]Behrox[/MENTION] can guide you better.

All classes for the Bacehlor or Undergraduate courses take place in the Main Campus. The City Campus only hold PhD and Master classes. If you're doing BS CS or EE or BBA you'll be having classes in the Main Campus.

I really want to get into FAST but distance is much of an issue. My next choice is NUST but getting in is much harder and it doesn't provide cs in Karachi. What should I do then?

Getting in NUST will be harder but it depends mainly on the test. You could always opt for living in hostel. I got selected for ISB campus scoring 124 in test having 80% in inter. My name appeared in 3rd merit list. That should give you an idea
Apart from that FAST is really better. DHA Suffa is also nice if you are located near defence. Honestly if you are thinking of doing masters from abroad you can go to any decent uni but if you are thinking of staying here and working, then FAST has a good reputation.

I've heard comsats has improve a lot in these past few years so which one is better for cs? also i've 75% marks in FSC-I and got 79/100 marks in NTS-NAT now i know i can get into comsats with these marks easily but can these marks secure me a position in FAST-CS or do i need to improve my NAT score. (i think i can get 85+ easily).

full Punjab Govt support
Actual research IS HAPPENING in ITU
ITU has all the old and seasoned teachers Even those who made Lahore FAST to what reputation it has in IT industry are now in ITU
ITU is cheaper
ITU has Foreign university linkage something which FAST lahore lacks terribly
However FAST has industry wide reputation
So as long ITU has full Govt support i see a bright future

Hey, guys!

I'm just done with my Matric exams. As with all the other folks going through the same phase, I want to invest these holidays (of about 4 months) in something productive. I aim for doing MBBS from King Edwards Medical College. I have heard that most of the medical colleges accept SAT-II as a standard medium of entrance exam. I want to give it a try: practice hard in these holidays and then appear for the SAT-II Exam in December. I have heard that we can submit our results in advance to ensure the admission.

What do you guys say? I need suggestions.
