[h=1]Nolan North Has a Feeling Uncharted 4 is the Last in the Series[/h]
The plot details sure sounds like it'll be the last game.
Nolan North, a prominent actor in the games industry, is most notable for his role as Nathan Drake in Naughty Dog's Uncharted series. The Santa Monica-based studio just unveiled a new trailer for
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End earlier this week at E3, the next sequel slated for release sometime in 2015 for PlayStation 4.
The trailer presented a dark and grim outlook in Drake's fourth numbered adventure in the series. Perhaps it's for a reason as North, who would likely be in a position to have some insight to the plot of the game, seems to think it'll be the last one in the series.
"It’s bittersweet but at a certain point you want to go out on top," North told IGN in an interview.
"If this is the last one indeed, and I believe it’s the last one – nothing’s confirmed, but I believe it’s the last one Naughty Dog wants to do, in which case I hope somebody else doesn’t pick up the mantle because they’ve done it so well for so long – but yeah, it’s one of those things where you just have to cross that bridge when you get to it.
"I like the idea of going out on top so we better do a hell of a job with this one… and it’s already looking pretty good."
The synopsis of the game follows:
Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter, Nathan Drake, is forced back into the world of thieves. With the stakes much more personal, Drake embarks on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure. His greatest adventure will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.
Neil Druckmann and Bruce Staley will lead development for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. They previously served as creative director and game director respectively for last year's
The Last of Us. Last week, it was teased that Naughty Dog has
another project in early pre-production stages that is at the scale of Uncharted.
Naughty Dog is currently putting in the finishing touches to
The Last of Us Remastered for PlayStation 4. It will release on July 29.
