You must've used a Hacktivator to activate it. Thats not the kind of stuff i recommend because it modifies your OS' files. Anyway, enjoy the 8.1 experience.

is there any way to download the 8.1 upgrade separately? it takes AGES to download from MS Store
Well you could download the 8.1 iso, extract or mount it inside your current windows (i prefer extraction) and just run the setup. You will be given the option to keep or clean your files or data/programs on C drive.

I upgraded 8 PCs on my home this way and update process went perfectly smooth without any loss of files, settings or any software whatsoever.

After 180 days can we activate the same window using auto kms method? or we have to do anything else?

ok guys I'm in a bit of a fix. My Hp Envy4 came with windows 8. A few days ago the hard drive started developing problems (damaged sectors) before giving it for warranty I made a recovery USB using HP Recovery Manager. The process completed without any issues and so I claimed warranty for the hard disk believing that I would be able to restore windows 8 easily on the new hard drive. Well that didn't happen. Apparently the USB recovery wasn't created properly which kinda makes sense because there was corruption on the damaged hard drive.
So the question is, Is there any way I can get windows 8 key back? Is it stored in the BIOS? Any other way to get genuine windows 8 back? If nothing works out guess I'll just try my hands at the methods in this thread. Really hope someone comes up with something though.

I installed windows 8.1 just to see how it fares against windows 7 and believe me it was frustrating for me.I did not liked the metro interface even a tiny bit.Windows 7 is more user friendly than windows 8.

Auto KMS is exactly what the name suggests. It Auto activates your copy of windows with occasional checks and does so if needed. So basically you won't have to worry about anything.

Why i prefer this over any other? Because its like a Trial Extender.

These are more like first impressions, which need not be good.

Do let us know about your views after a week or two of usage. I'd appreciate some detailed impressions with things you liked or disliked about it :)

Thanks

Step by step guide to activate Office Professional Plus 2013

Before installing office 2013, first convert retail version to volume ver because at the moment writing of this post Retail version activation is not possible but we can activate volume version.

So first we need to convert Retail to volume ver. (Iso images on MSDN and TN microsoft sites are Retail ver)

- Extract the iso to anywhere you want.
- Rename the folder "proplusr.ww" to "proplus.ww".
- Now in the proplus.ww folder, rename the following files:
"proprww.cab" to "propsww.cab"
"proprww2.cab" to "propsww2.cab"

- Remove the 4 files "config.xml", "proplusrww.msi", "proplusrww.xml" and "setup.xml".
- Download package from here
- Now extract the files from the package folder to the "proplus.ww" folder.
- You're done! Just run setup, you will see volume info on your screen and setup willl install the volume version of office!
- Once Volume ver is installed
- Use KMSpico v9.0.3.20131029_Beta to Activate Office 2013
- Done

"Retail version activation is not possible"
It's possible. I don't know from where you guys get such information. I activated my retail copy of Office Pro Plus 2013 using phone activation method more than a month ago and it's still going well. Same goes for Windows 8.1 Pro, I'm still trying to figure out why some of the members even bother with AutoKMS methods when there's a permanent activation solution available since a while now.

Anyway, if you use M$ account with your Windows (legit), it's advised that you disable login for illegal copy of M$ Office: Office 2013 "Sign in" and Cloud Capabilities - Turn On or Off - Windows 7 Help Forums

Baghi! Let me clarify this for future references as well. When I am talking about activation, I am referring to "KMS Activation" and only that. I don't support any other method regardless of their confirmed working.

So the Retail Version can't be activated via KMS Servers.

Other methods are always available. :)

Well your call, but phone method activates without modifying system files or running unecessary services in the background.

Yep, and it works well :)

Let's just call it a personal preference based on a theory, which I can't mention here.

Plus, I am not blocking anyone from sharing phone activation method, and you've been sharing it when there was no method available.

I am just waiting on that Microsoft Toolkit by CODY to support 8.1 because it'll make the process piece of cake.

I'm also waiting for Cody toolkit. And the office volume activation method I shared it was created by Cody :)
