YouTube, in an interesting development, has started displaying “YouTube PK” as its default logo on the website for users accessing YouTube.com in Pakistan. While its not entirely clear, this move hints that a localized version of YouTube has been in play instead of default global version that Pakistanis used to get till few days ago.



Unlike Google.com, where a local version for Pakistan is served to Pakistani people through a Google PK logo, YouTube never displayed its Pakistani audience with YouTubePK logo before today.

Since YouTube has now started displaying unique dedicated country code with its logo, move can result into an unspoken arrangement where Pakistani government could officially lift the ban on the website, or at least may not enforce the ban as before.

It would be worthy to mention here that YouTube is currently not blocking any content for its Pakistani version. All videos, that are available on its international version, are accessible in Pakistan as well.

Check below the rapid growth of traffic on YouTube from Pakistani only:

YouTube to be unblocked within 48 hours: PTA

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information Technology on Monday issued a directive to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to restore YouTube service within 48 hours.

The Ministry of Information Technology Spokesman Sagheer Anwar Wattoo and PTA officials confirmed that the directive has been issued.

The service is still not accessible on some internet service providers without the use of a secure (https) protocol or VPN/proxy, which means the website remains blocked for the time being.

PTA officials said all arrangements for unblocking YouTube are complete and all standard operating procedures have been checked. The officials claimed all blasphemous content had been blocked on the localised version of YouTube.

Those people who are currently suffering with the issue of accessing the youtube. They are advised to wait for another 48 hours till their ISP unblocks youtube as it is advised officially by Govt. to lift the ban.

PTCL has upgraded speed I think. I am receiving 400 kBps on 2 Mbps connection. I mean wow!! :2cool: BTW. You must enjoy it then LOL.(2t)

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
