Hello all....! I know this topic might be pointless in some respect, but I just wanted to tell me, I'm now a certified PS3 owner !! Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooh !!! :groupwave:

I had to go to Lahore to buy it, but the travel was worth it !!


I also wanted to get the Dual Shock 3 controller, instead of the Six Axis one, so I exchanged the Six Axis which came out of the box with a brand new packed Dual Shock 3 controller Haha.. :D

Anyways, here are the :::*juicy details*:::

 Console Bought:

SKU: 60 GB !!! --> All Features *included*...a *rare* item these days..
Region: PAL !! Just the one I wanted... :)
$$$$$: 37,000 Rupees......36,000 for the actual console, and 1000 extra for the Six Axis --> Dual Shock 3 conversion (bm)
Shop: Kiran Electronics, Defense, Lahore, Pakistan

Games bought (all sealed n Brand New!):

Name: GTA 4
Price: 3800 Rupees (was intially asking me for 4500... )
Shop: Kiran Electronics, Defense, Lahore, Pakistan

Name: COD 4
Price: 3600 Rupees
Shop: Kiran Electronics, Link Road, Model Town, Pakistan

Accessories bought:

Name: PS2 --> PS3 Controller Adapter (to also use my PS2 controllers)
Price: 750 Rupees (was initially asking me for about 900 I think)
Shop: some shop in Imperial Market, Raja Bazaar :p, Rawalpindi, Pakistan

Further bargaining: Reduced a measly 300 Rupees..:p

Grand Total ---> 44,850 Rupees

That's about 9 months of my university scholarship gone in an instant :D !!

This is the picture right after I bought the PS3 and GTA 4 from Kiran Electronics in Defense Lahore.... I took this picture while in the car, and MMSed to my folks back here in Pindi..

My current PS3 Setup here in Pindi.....I plan to re-work this arrangement as soon as I get a break from the COD4 online multiplayer (which is *excellent* btw !!)

I also made an unboxing video, like many available on youtube, but that aint so good, lol..

Lastly.. I have connected my PS3 to highspeed DSL now too..and I have joined the PlayStation Network..

Some please add me, contact me on PSN, we'll play GTA 4 and COD4 multiplayer together etc... !!

congrats ahmadka.But why u didn't bought the mgs4 bundle which you and i were looking for on the internet.At least mgs4 bundle is retailing for rs.39000 total and you are getting sixaxis plus dual shock 3 mgs4 and a 40gb playstation.Whatever but how do you managed to find new ps3.The ps3 you bought have a seal on it or not because i want to buy an intact ps3.i think your ps3 is used because there are fingerprints on it.Anyways i will wait till june 12 because "sabar ka phal meetha hota hai."

Congratulations on your purchase, Ahmadka!....it's great to know that found the right console and are satisfied with it....I used to see you around on almost all ps3-related forums inquiring about the different ps3 versions etc....you've become somewhat of a popular figure over the last few days....lol....I'll add you up on PSN....my ID is CerebralTiger....unfortunately, I currently don't have the same games as you but i'll look forward to playing with you in the future

thanx everyone on wishing me on, well......buying something to spoil myself with :p...I guess I'm a true Sony fan so buying a PS3 was simply a must...I have never played the Xbox or the Xbox 360, ever.. :p... thanx everyone, lol :p

@CerebralTiger,...haha, yeh, I do myself research before opening my wallet, lol...I did it when I was buying my computer, my PSP, my N73, etc...The internet is a wonderful thing in this regard, lol :p... thanx for adding me to your list man..what games do you have ? maybe i can buy a game u have or something...but dude, COD 4 is a kick a$$ game....now that i am playing it which no lag (cough cough PC gaming :p ), its too much fun !!

For your next game get Uncharted. I made the mistake of buying it with GTA4 and now GTA4 is waiting for its turn :). Its the game you can show to all X360 fans :wink2:

Great man, congrats. I still have two months to go before I can save enough for a PS3 + LCD panel.
I'll be creating a similar thread in a couple of months time too inshAllah :D

Till then, rock on. By the way, here are the games I'll get with my PS3:

1) MGS4
2) GTA4
3) Drake's Fortune

After that, I'll put Burnout Paradise, Motorstorm, Haze, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank and Dark Sector Demos on download. :D
.....aaaaaaah, am getting impatient.

    That's still higher than it's total play length. A 5 hour campaign for a $50 game is downright scammy.

    I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

    As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

    Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.
