Is there any point to anticipating an Xbox, if one already has a decent gaming PC? The Xbox gamepass covers all the MS exclusives right?

Ideally, If one already has a gaming pc then it's a choice between the PS5 & the next nintendo switch-wii-pad-mote-u-pro thingy!

This is where the perception is wrong.

Sony led the market with the PS2 and then became arrogant with the PS3 release and got humbled later on during its life cycle.

And at that time they were establishing new IPs that along with the PS4's specs/price compared to XONE drove PS4 to its success.

Whose to say Sony won't become arrogant next-gen? Whatever IPs they have, from what I'm seeing are getting milked. Where is the risk-taking Sony with new IPs?

PS5 Digital Only and PS5 Disc Versions are identical minus the disc drive, meaning being powerful than the XSS. So, yeah, Sony does need to hit a sweet spot IMO and use their technical lingo to their advantage.

Exclusives are thinning for now and exclusives will be coming to PC, no matter how later on.
at least for now its a no brainer that ps5 would outsell the xbsx and xbss at launch combined.

as for exclusives coming on pc is a factor not concerned, by the time they come on pc people who would had want to played the game would either buy a ps5 or not buy it at all even when it comes on pc :p

Xbox Series X launch lineup comes into focus

Gears Tactics, Assassin’s Creed, Yakuza, and more arrive Nov. 10

The Xbox Series X — and its less powerful sibling, the Xbox Series Sarrives Nov. 10. Microsoft confirmed the launch date and prices of its next-gen Xboxes on Wednesday, and in the wake of that news, game publishers announced or adjusted game release dates to match the console launch.

While Xbox Game Studios’ own Halo Infinite is no longer an Xbox Series X launch game, there are still plenty of next-gen and cross-gen games hitting Nov. 10. Microsoft is also touting a massive library of backward-compatible and “Optimized for Xbox Series X/S” games that were originally released on Xbox One.

Here’s a look at the Xbox Series X launch lineup so far:

XBOX SERIES X LAUNCH-DAY GAMES
ASSASSIN’S CREED VALHALLA

Ubisoft’s next major Assassin’s Creed game, set during the Viking age, had its release date moved up by a week to launch in time with the next Xbox.

DESTINY 2: BEYOND LIGHT

Bungie’s next big expansion is coming to next-gen platforms, and the release just happened to line up nicely with the Xbox Series X/S launch.

DIRT 5

Codemasters’ next racing game was originally scheduled to arrive in October, but was recently pushed to early November. Current-gen consoles and Windows PC will get Dirt 5 on Nov. 6.

GEARS TACTICS

Already available on Windows PC, the Gears of War strategy game crab-walks over to Xbox Series X/S on Nov. 10 — making it the only Xbox Game Studios-published title confirmed for launch.

TETRIS EFFECT: CONNECTED

Tetris Effect makes the leap to Xbox, now with multiplayer, on day one.

WATCH DOGS: LEGION

On other platforms, Watch Dogs: Legion arrives on Oct. 29. But the Xbox Series X/S version is timed for the next-gen console’s launch day.

YAKUZA: LIKE A DRAGON

Microsoft locked down next-gen timed exclusivity for Yakuza: Like a Dragon, a turn-based role-playing game set in the Yakuza franchise.

XBOX SERIES X LAUNCH-WINDOW GAMES
A handful of games are within spitting distance of the Xbox Series X/S launch, including Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (Nov. 13) and Cyberpunk 2077 (Nov. 19), the latter of which will be playable on the new console via Xbox One backward compatibility, but won’t get a next-gen update until 2021. A number of other games, such as Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, CrossfireX, and Outriders are expected shortly after the Xbox Series X/S release date, likely close enough to be considered within the next-gen console’s “launch window.”

And how is it a no-brainer? Curious to know.

As far exclusives coming to PC is concerned, whose to say Sony won't change their tactic? Furthermore, why shouldn't I wait for that exclusive to make its way on to PC where I can enjoy a cheaper price?

he's a big fan of game pass, an XBS + Game pass seems like a much more financially secure deal than upgrading PC TBH :p

Not sure if they confirmed the S also does hardware RT or not.
That sounds more like your own contemplation than my preferences, given your budget concerns and all :p

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.
