Hi guys !! Well I am in this confusion that which mobile should I get ? N97 or N900 ? I know many may say that I should get the N900, but I see it a little differently .. I have listed some of the main Pros and Cons I found for each set below. Please have a look, and then share your opinion about this ...

I specially value the opinion from existing N97 users, since they have experience with one of the sets being discussed here :)

Option 1: Get N900 (Rs. 48,500):

Pros:
-- A FAST mobile! Multi-tasking and whatnot !!..
-- A newer phone .. the latest from Nokia (i.e. you are not buying an 'old' phone :p)
-- Newer GUI .. moving on from the aging Symbian ...

Cons:
-- I would have to switch from AT&T to T-Mobile to keep my existing number and use 3G :(
-- More expensive: N900: Rs. 48,500, N97: Rs. 36,400 (after several discount codes I have :))
-- I dont particularly like the multi-desktop concept .. I like the widget jam-packet homescreen of the N97 more ..
-- I think the phone can only be operated in landscape mode, and not portrait mode like normal phones ..
-- Probably not many 3rd party applications would be available for this set for some time, since its a new platform in the mobile world ..
-- Only available in black .. I actually wanted a white phone next .. not much of an issue, but still ..

Option 2: Get N97 (Rs. 36,400):

Pros:
-- Keep my existing AT&T number and be able to use 3G :)
-- I love the homescreen of this set. Personally, looks wise, I think the N97 beats the N900 ..
-- Lots of 3rd party apps to try out
-- Cheap ! Only Rs. 36,400 !!
-- Available in white too .. :)

Cons:
-- Uses the same old 'static' looking Symbian OS :(
-- Has 'mobile' type processing speeds .. may not be as fast as the N900

It boils down to this for me: I like the N900, really, but the concept of having multiple desktops is just taking it a bit too far imo. I have seen the multiple desktop concept on some samsung phones, and I didn't really like it that much; you have to look around where you placed some widget or shortcut, etc... If only the homescreen of the N900 could be like that of the N97's (just one homescreen with all the cool widgets on it), then the N900 would have been my definite choice. Putting widgets all over the place in an unorganised manner is not really very appealing to me. N97 looks good externally, but the OS itself looks very dry and boring now. I mean, its menus and calendar views look 'old' and very dry ... This is my only issue with the N97. I have an N73 right now, and although its a very capable phone, its has its issues due to being a symbian phone (gets slow, and has really boring unanimated menus, etc...) :(

So guys, which set should I get .. ??

For those who don't know about N900, well its still not released .. should release later this month though inshAllah ... here's a video of it .. ;)

Dude if I were you I would definitely go for N900, despite of the fact I already bought N97, it is a nice phone but believe me there's nothing much more different in it other than the seXy widgets in the desktop. I have recently been in touch with a couple of guys from Nokia's official maemo application development team and they said it simply rox. Well these are not the things that will make me ditch N97 and buy N900 but the previews out in internet surely does.

I have already ordered a iPhone 3GS as well so for atleast 3 months I am not gonna buy N900 or maybe I won't as for the reason nokia announced it's first phone with capacitive touchscreen and a new series ofcourse i.e. X6

yeah but, don't you guys think the N97 has an overally better interface than the N900 .. ?

I mean N900 has 4 homscreens with the widgets put on them in complete random order ... N97 is better in this regard since all the widgets are placed on a single screen, so when you look at it, you get all the information you want (email, facebook, weather, etc .. ) .... but on the N900, you would have to scroll there and there just to find the information you want ... If only the N900 could have a homescreen like that of N97 ..

Look at this comparison of desktops, and tell me which one appeals to you more:

Mate N900 is no doubt a good phone, but you will face major problem of availability of apps since it is a new OS. Nokia has developed an app that helps in making Maemo 4's apps compatible with Maemo 5 (only for developers) but I believe old apps won't be worth enough and might not fulfill today's needs as of now. I know it's not the main issue... and N97 surely isn't a bad choise either having a better interface and all widgets in single screen (as you mentioned earlier) makes it even easier to manage everything. So i'd suggest you can go with either of them, non will disappoint you ;)

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
