[SOLVED] Which GPU should I buy ? Amd or nvidia ?

So guys first I decided to buy Amd r9 290 but then I found out that 80% of the cards are suffering from black screen issues/shuttering . Now please tell me which card should I buy ?

Gtx 760 4GB
Gtx 770 4b ( if 4gb is available in pakistan please tell me the shop address )

I m gonna buy a new led in few months with 1440p resolution .. thats why I need a 4gb vram. Right now my screen resolution is 1920x1080

( I only play Battlefield 4 , no other games )

There is a reason you will have difficulty finding 280x in market because of it's high demand. It is a successful card at its price. Yes there was a bit of issue with 1 pg member but it is not something that is generalized.. Most of the issues were of the past and were rectified in previous updates.

4GB GPU is overkill.,.,
for BF4..just buy used 680 2GB @30+K & max out every game,.,
dont go for AMD R 2XX series.,.,i hav read a lot of issues regarding that series on different forums.,.
Im personal using EVGA 680 & its best GPU in 30K range.,.,

The reason you quoted for the shortage might play a small part in shortage but the major reason is litecoin mining! Apparently AMD cards perform better than Nvidia cards in mining. When we come to the local market, they're probably holding off buying the r9 280x because the price internationally is around $420. Hence the shortage.

IF you only play BF3, AMD is a better option because with upcoming release of MANTLE, you will see some major improvements...

I don't think the price would be the same. This is completely hypothetical so bear with me, See, our retailers would be importing from the same vendors or wholesalers the international markets will be getting their cards from, meaning Newegg or Amazon basically are just like our retailers(minus the duties and customs). The shortage is not on Newegg or Amazons side, its on the producers. They are not able to cope with the demand hence the price has been increased. (Again completely theoretical)

And yes couldn't agree more. Bf4 performs really well with the AMD cards. I myself have used AMD for the longest of time (6950 and 7970). No issues at all Alhamodlilah. Just shifted to NVIDA to give it a try. I guess at the end of the day its more of personal preference than anything.

From what i have been reading on overclock.net, People are saying that since 280x is simply a rebrand of 7970Ghz, there is currently no shortage in supply. All the vendor cards are available in sufficient quantity, It is just the retailer's trying to make money by simply overpricing them, but yet again,, this is hypothetical..

P- I think litecoin mining has subsided now, Dagecoin or something is the new currency that performs equally good on Nvidia.

Also I'll add, the 770 4gb will perform just like the 770 2gb on whichever resolution you game on, unless you go for sli or use multi-monitor. The extra 2gb will not come into use on a single Monitor. Here's a link GTX 770 4GB vs 2GB Showdown - Page 3 of 4 - AlienBabelTech

For battlefield 4 just go with the r9 290 if you can afford it.

Between the 2 nvidia, get the 770 obviously a better choice than the 760.

and temp 79'(continously 6hourz of play); some people playing max 3hourz and give up);:spiteful:

so understand the feeling of real gamer,, i will not suggest you to buy.. or do one thing.. but it and gain experience yourself. to know on how it would be good,

aur gamer to upgrades karta hi rehta ha.. in gpu / cpu / ram /etccc..

yaar i can spend maximum 55k on gpu & GTX 780 is for 75k em not gonna buy R9 280x coz
of the issues u have faced , i would love to buy AMD r9 290 but most of the peoples are facing Black Screen issues with elpida memory Hynix memory wale Bilkul theek hain but Buy kiye bgair kaise pata lage ga ke is mein hynix memory hai ya elpida ? So i don't know what to do

just stop playing bf4 on ultra settings on 1600x900 on r9 270x and my fps are 55 to 60 so at 1080p on 760 which is faster then 270x you will easily get 45
