1.75 lakh is what a friend of mine was offered right here in Karachi :) But since he had no plans of staying here, that was rejected. And he had just qualified as a CA.
Than all I can say that your friend was one of the luckiest guy :p I never heard from anyone about getting such a starting salary after completing the CA. I am agree with Sir Ahsan on this

It also Depends on Luck!.....I dunno much about engineering but one of my teachers use to tell that his Cousin was a "Lalloo"....and that he only did a Diploma in engineering(i dunno the Particular field in which he did Diploma)....My teacher said that an "Arabian" was living near his House & he had Business in Dubai..He Just came to know his cousin & Luckily Offered him a Job in Dubai!.(That Arabian was Desperate at that Time)..Now his Cousin is Paid very Handsomely and he Saves Approx. 2 Lakhs Pak Rupees Every Month!!!..He is Still Un-married & around 27years of age hence not much "Kharcha"!.........Conclusion;
Luck plays a very Important Role!....So.........Good Luck!.......^That Guy is yet not even 30 and is still earning Handsomely!!!.

60k is really a ridiculous expectation if you have no experience. 25-30k is what you should expect with around 3 years of experience mate.

Also graduating from LUMS doesn't mean that you automatically get a job, from this year's batch 60% of the graduates got jobs at some place or another( my cousin just graduated so i know). The university name does matter but thats not the final thing, its what makes you different from all the other MBA's that the employers want to find out.

P.S: Those who are suggesting CA, i want to ask them, how much of your life are you willing to sacrifice on studying? :D

@SA exactly..now he plans to do BBA privately, then MBA from a reputed university.Might take 4 to 5 years for an MBA but until then he will have made money and gained 5 years of experience...Later he can have option of either finding a job on his MBA degree or job experience.
I think thats a good plan?.
Short term yes.

Long term no.

His call centre experience wont be really used in anything unless he specifically goes for marketing and is working outbound call centre. Then its a good combo.

Also ... BBA private ? Pheli dafa sun raha hun. BBA usually has assignments and projects ... not just papers (Like Bcom).

Also, call centre job is pretty hectic. That and studying doesnt usually mix together easy. Also reputed universities now need intership experience as a BBA to get into the MBA programme.

I dont know about you but I find these 'yeh bhe karlo woh bhe karlo' guys kinda not getting the reality of the situation. My friend, whos just started ACCA now is going for MBA as well. I honestly believe handling both together isnt going to be easy. ACCA gets tough in two ways. 7 day classes near the end of course and the Professional level papers. The pass rate is already v.low ... that along with an MBA, which is again ... not an easy task.

after 2yr 25k to 30k
after 3 yr 35 to 45k
if switch to somewhere else you might get 50 to 55k or 60k in some cases
after one year if you switch to somewhere 60k to 70k

Got a BBA from iba 1.5yrs ago and got a starting salary of 35k in a bank as a management trainee. Getting 50 k now (still only a bba). Since both iba and lums now require 4yr bba and 2yr work experience before mba, you can expect avg salary of 50k or more after graduating from these universities. If you have a 4yr mba degree from some other university expect around 25-35k.

Also chartered accountants may be getting good salaries but have really tough working hours. Most mba/bank jobs are 9:00 to 5:00, so its money vs more free time to spend it.

If you want 80k starting, find a job in the middle east as your salary goes up because of the exchange rate.

Some pretty grim numbers these. Luckily, in the field that I'm planning to get into once I'm done with college, the basic starting salary for someone with no experience is 97000 with perks. Unfortunately though, you need to spend 1.5 years and Rs.2 million to get a license and some heavy duty sifarish. Hopefully, I'll be able to work after finishing my degree to at least save up enough for the license.

Earth to child, Earth to child. We are in Pakistan and that's how much an average graduate earns. Get that through your head.

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!
