What GPU to buy?

I am ready to dump my 4850 after nearly 5 years of faithful service. I have a budget in the 30k range. The rest specs follow:

i5 2500K - stock
ASUS P8P67
8 GB RAM
700 W PSU

So, what should I get? I don't really care about vendor as long as the card is a solid performer and well built. I also am indifferent to Physx - that is its not necessary. I would also prefer future proofing at 1080p for at least 2 years.

i have HD 7850 2gb and i couldn't be happier ... apart from Crysis 3 it runs everything at ultra, in Crysis 3 i have to bring down AF and AA and quality to Very High (Or one step lower than Ultra)

yes but at the current prices 7850 doesnt make sense - the only reasonable price that I saw for the 2GB model was 22k at Media International a week ago...but it out of stock and will be for 15 days at least

Good Budget.
My Advice, Spend on what is required.
As per your Demand,
7870XT for 25K would do you good.

Others will tell u about nvedia.
Just buy the one with better performance, confirm it via benchmarks

The beast Royal King/ Queen 7850 for as low as 20K and on.
RK Ed is almost as powerful as a normal 7870!

so save money and grab it. i have one too and it's the Greatest Bang for buck.
7870 XT is too but i have heard it's having heating issues however 7850 RK is simply awesome

Club3d 7870XT is out of stock for a long time at IMX (had that on my radar)....as for the 7870 model you suggested, its 1GB only

If you can get your hands on a GTX 590 get it (it out performs a 680 and all the above ) however since it is an obsolete series and you will have difficulty finding it. In current gen go for a 7870xt or a 7950.

Au Tech's senior rep told me that about 65-70% of all 7870 XTs were returned resulted from Over heating and Artifacts issues as an inherent problem. however not a single 7850 RK was returned
so id suggest to get a 7850 RK or if u can increase the budget then buy a 7950 (by Club3D)

Dude id suggest u better stick to the benchmarks confirming real world performance rather than theoretical specs.

Indeed...at the end of every anandtech review they always mention about 1 GB being right on the edge...

PS...I think you are confusing what I said....I was talking about 7850 1GB as thats the only club3d one available...7870 is only available in 2GB flavor

anything 1080p or less is same as on 2GB or 1GB

Nope. Most games (new) uses more than 1300mb now at good settings and gpu. check that with msi burner

If u are on a tight budget, then either 7870 or 660 would be good option.
If u can stretch a bit more then 7950 over 660 ti would be a better choice..
7950 performs great, runs cool, and overclocks like a beast.!!! but u cant go wrong either way...
