MULTI Valve Announces Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO)

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched 12 years ago.

CS: GO features new maps, characters, and weapons and delivers updated versions of the classic CS content (de_dust, etc.). In addition, CS: GO will introduce new gameplay modes, matchmaking, leader boards, and more.
"Counter-Strike took the gaming industry by surprise when the unlikely MOD became the most played online PC action game in the world almost immediately after its release in August 1999," said Doug Lombardi at Valve. "For the past 12 years, it has continued to be one of the most-played games in the world, headline competitive gaming tournaments and selling over 25 million units worldwide across the franchise. CS: GO promises to expand on CS' award-winning gameplay and deliver it to gamers on the PC as well as the next gen consoles and the Mac."
CS: GO is being developed by Valve in cooperation with Seattle-based Hidden Path Entertainment. The title is targeted for release in early 2012 and will be playable at this year's PAX Prime and Eurogamer Expo 2011.

Yes it is coming. But interesting to note that this is not CS2. What Valve is doing is to put the CS SOURCE on consoles. This is actually an add on. How it will play against the modern shooters is still to be seen. Plus its on the same engine. I was hoping for a CS2. Damn

And it is XBLA title?? What does this means. Downloadable game???

High expectations??? This is the same old game with matchmaking and few guns and map addons. If you remember correctly Valve was updating the game last year on steam, added achievements and newer built of there engine, but the community was so upset they have to backdown. Now they are making a seperate game just for those enhancements. I am expecting a free game cuz i own CS:S already. And valve will probably give this version for free to PC owners of CS:S

lolz we'll see them anyway... But i'm dissappointed because i wanted a complete engine overhaul with physx added not just a fu***ing addon (so we can see the terrorist terrorised by ids like ps3FTW!!! ?? Seriously?)
