No, keep it simple. Just say that your line profile is of 8mbps but you're still getting 4mbps speed, that's for 1218.

You can mention username when messaging PTCLCares, he'll understand.

Hahahahahahhahahahhaha

It's so funny the way we talk about the CSRs at 1218. Like they're idiots [emoji23]

hey i am facing frequent disconnections what can be done ?
the internet light stays on while the internet one is off.
plus it seems to quickly reconnect :/
i am confused what my complaint should be about low line parameters or frequent disconnections ?
last week i was getting snr margins in the range of 20+ and upstream was 1024 .

Spoiler: show

This is the speed I am getting:

17ms ping on official speedtest website and 94ms on speedtest.ptcl.net

My browsing is slow as hell, even though i'm getting pretty decent speed....
Anyone know why?

Update

1) Wikipedia should be opening fine now
2) There is some maintenance going on an intl. cable, no ETA (a possible reason for poor browsing maybe).

StrikerX ! Clear something for me please.

I shifted to Fiber Optics (coverted old line -- new number is also allotted). Even though the line stats are perfectly fine, i can't get it to connect with 8/81 VPI/VCI. It always connects at 0/103. What could be the reason?

Does fiber come with 'new' username and password for PTCL? Because i did mention explicitly in my application, to NOT change my username and password for PTCL. Could it be that they have changed it, being necessary or otherwise?

They might have changed it, also the stock password is ptcl right?
Try using 4040 as the password and then check.

Telling them not to change the username/pass doesn't make a difference. They never listen and they probably never will. They changed mine too. Password is 4040 and VPI/VCI is 8/81 and it works fine.

If your internet is connecting on 0/103 then your MSAG/ONU has been configured on that VPI/VCI. Nothing abnormal, my copper connection a long time back was on 8/81.

My line is fiber but my DSL still connects on 0/103. I remember getting all worried and calling PTCL again and again. If I remember correctly, the guy said it doesn't matter. It depends on your exchange.
It used to matter a couple of years ago when there were very few areas with fiber and it needed to have separate ports (upgraded DSLAMs). But now they've upgraded their back end devices so all ports support fiber. So it really doesn't matter what ports your DSL connects on, so long as your line stats are fine and you're getting what you paid for.
That's what the guy told me.
StrikerX what does MSAG stand for?
